Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 12, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 03 -66, Authorizing Preparation of Plans and <br />Specifications for Twilight Acres/Twilight Acres 2nd Addition <br />Watermain Extension. <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple majority to authorize plans and specifications <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Sanitary Sewer installation in the Twilight Acres/Twilight Acres 2nd Addition <br />has been completed. A petition was received by the residents in the area for <br />extension of the watermain on Vicky Lane and on the North half of Nancy Drive. <br />A resident meeting was held on May 1, 2003 at which the residents were in <br />support of a project to install watermain on Vicky Lane from Lake Drive west to <br />Nancy Drive and north to Main Street. <br />It is staffs recommendation to authorize the preparation of plans and <br />specifications for the watermain extension, which will also provide necessary <br />looping of the water system. <br />The City will fund this project and all costs will be recovered through connection <br />charges upon resident connection requests. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution 03 -66, Authorizing the Preparation of Plans and <br />Specifications for the watermain extension. <br />2. Return to staff for further review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 03 -66 be adopted. <br />
