24
October 11, 1977
Mayor Bohjanen said the Blaine Planning and Zoning had received a request from the owner
of the Laundermat on Sunset to convert that building to a recreation center. All persons
along Sunset in Lino Lakes had been notified of the hearing and had prepared a petition
against this type of business at that location. Mayor Bohjanen said he had called Blaine
and talked to the Mayor and he felt this will be worked out.
Mr. Schneider said there is still some work to be done on the internal budgeting but
he has a test he must study for and will not be doing any work on this matter until after
he has completed this test.
Mr. Zelinka had no report from the Personnel Commission. He asked the Council if they
wished the Personnel Commission to initiate a classification for the proposed park att-
endent. The Council was not sure on this and Mr. Zelinka said he would check with Mr.
Johnson on this matter.
The Boy Scouts have requested the use of the City Hall for a Court of Honor on October
25, 1977 and the Lino Area Recreation Association had requested the use of the City Hall
for a meeting on October 26, 1977. Mr. McLean moved to approve both these requests.
Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Babcock asked if he needed further instructions on the hearing scheduled for October
13, 1977 before the Physical Development Committee? Mr. McLean felt that Mr. Babcock would
be at a definite disadvantage without some background information.
There was general discussion on the background of the refusal of this City to honor the
Otter Lake Regional Park proposal as set forth by the Metro Council and the steps taken
IIIto arrive at this point. There was also discussion on the actions by the Metro Council.
Mr. Babcock felt this matter should be postponed until the sub committee has met with
Lino Lakes and Hugo. He also felt this recommendation to the Physical Development
Committee is premature.
Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize Mr. Babcock, Mr. Gotwald and Mr. Short to attend this
meeting. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously. These men will attend
providing Hugo is also represented. The Clerk is to verify this. Mr. Karth said he
would also be present.
Mr. Zelinka moved to approve requisition #780. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried
unanimously.
W. McLean questioned some of the bills that did not have requisitions. Some of the
questions were answered. The Clerk was instructed to inform all personnel that purchases
must have requisitions. There are no exceptions.
Mr. McLean moved to approve checks #8274 through and including #8314, with no3s 8287
and 8295 being voided and spelling to be corrected on #8290. Seconded by Mr. Karth.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. McLean moved to adjourn at 9:45 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Aye.
The minutes were approved with corrections October 24, 1977 at the regular Council meeting.
C) 2
EDNA L. SARNER, CLERK - TREASURER
