048 <br />COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 25, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to <br />order by Acting Mayor Reinert at 6:40 P.M., Monday, March 25, <br />1991. Council Members present: Neal, Kuether, Bohjanen. Mayor <br />Bisel was absent. City Attorney, Bill Hawkins; Engineer's, <br />Darrell Schneider and Dan Boxrud; Planner, John Miller; Public <br />Works Director, Don Volk; Administrator, Randy Schumacher and <br />Clerk - Treasurer Marilyn Anderson were also present. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Council Member Kuether moved to approve the consent agenda as <br />presented. Council Member Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />DISPOSITION <br />MINUTES: Work Session, <br />March 11, 1991 <br />DISBURSEMENT: <br />REGULAR AGENDA <br />Regular Session, <br />March 11, 1991 <br />March 25, 1991 <br />Centennial Fire Dept. <br />ITEM <br />Approved <br />Approved <br />Approved <br />Acting Mayor Reinert asked that Item 8D, Consideration of <br />Preliminary Plat for Oak Brook Peninsula be delayed until the <br />April 8, 1991 agenda. <br />OPEN MIRE <br />Michael Kostick, My- Place -on- the -Lake appeared before the Council <br />to express his concerns regarding the proposed Cabaret Ordinance <br />amendment. Mr. Kostick explained that he has had a couple of <br />outdoor events at his establishment in the past and there have <br />been no problems. He said he has talked to Chief Campbell and <br />the Minnesota Liquor Control Commission regarding the requirement <br />that liquor cannot be sold outside of the building on the <br />premise. He felt that this provision in the law has been <br />overlooked in many communities because such events do bring added <br />revenue into the community. Mr. Kostick said he felt that Lino <br />Lakes was a small community and explained that the Council should <br />be behind the businesses that are already established and not <br />seek to restrict them further. He noted that the liquor industry <br />is hurting because of the strict DWI laws, insurance costs and <br />high taxes. He asked the Council to reconsider the proposed <br />Cabaret amendment and make existing businesses the first <br />PAGE 1 <br />1 <br />
