058 <br />COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 25, 1991 <br />Suggested Dates, Thursday April 18, Thursday April 25 - Acting <br />Mayor Reinert said these meetings were extremely important and <br />asked Mr. Schumacher to be sure every one could attend the date <br />set. Wednesday, April 17, 1991 was set for the team building <br />meeting. <br />League Annual Legislative Conference, Wednesday, April 10, 1991 - <br />Acting Mayor Reinert said he would make every effort to attend. <br />Council Member Neal said he would attend. Mr. Schumacher asked <br />that anyone interested in attending contact him so that they can <br />be preregistered. <br />Mobile Home Park - Mr. Miller and Council Member Neal visited a <br />site proposed for use as a mobile home park. The site is located <br />near I -35E and Cedar Street. Acting Mayor Reinert asked that the <br />developer make a proposal to the City. He noted that the area <br />would have to be rezoned and this will take some time going <br />through the process. <br />Sewer and Water Hook Ups - Mr. Neal noted that many residents <br />would like to hook up to the sanitary sewer and municipal water. <br />However, they are unable to pay the cost of making the connection <br />from the street to the house. He asked if this cost could be <br />added to the assessment. Mr. Schumacher explained that the City <br />would be making improvements on private property. There would be <br />a liability risk. The City Attorney explained that no <br />improvement that would not be a benefit to the City at large can <br />be assessable. He noted that if the City were to complete the <br />installation, the City would be using City funds and it would be <br />illegal to use public funds for improvements on private property. <br />Cost of County Sheriff's Police Coverage - Council Member Neal <br />asked Mr. Schumacher to contact the Sheriff's Department to <br />determine what the cost of coverage would be for five (5) years. <br />After discussing this matter further it was decided to continue <br />the discussion in the future. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adjourn at 9:05 P.M. Council <br />Member Bohjanen seconded the motion.
