168
COUNCIL MEETING MAY 28, 1991
improvement and the denial of the request. A copy of this letter
is in the 66th Street file. Mayor Bisel explained that the
Council would give the letter to the staff for review and a full
report would be made to the Council. Council Member Reinert
noted that some items in the letter were not specific and Mayor
Bisel asked the Administrator to make a complete presentation.
DESIGN REVIEW BOARD, JOHN MILLER
Revised Site and Building Plan for Centennial School District No.
12, Birch Street Site, DRB Application No. 91 -04 - Mr. Miller
explained that the school district found it necessary to revise
their site and building plan in order to reduce costs in the
construction of the facility. The major savings was realized by
rotating the school 90 degrees so that it will have two (2)
access points from Birch Street and no access from West Shadow
Lake Drive. This will save money by reducing driveways and
parking costs. The building remains unchanged as far as exterior
appearance is concerned.
The DRB recommended approval continent upon: 1) detail of light
standards should be provided and all outside lighting should be
hooded from outside glare, 2) a tabulated schedule of landscaping
material should be provided, and 3) screening of the loading dock
should be provided.
A variance will be required for driveway width. The two (2)
driveways on Birch Street will exceed the City's 26 foot driveway
limitation by four (4) feet.
Council Member Bohjanen moved to approve the site and building
plan, DRB application No. 91 -04 including the contingencies
recommended by the DRB. Council Member Neal seconded the motion.
VOTING ON THE MOTION:
Bisel
Neal
Absent: Kuether
Motion carried.
Bohjanen
Reinert
Kuether ❑
Council Member Bohjanen moved to approve the variance, DRB
application No. 91 -08.
