190 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 6, 1991 <br />Mayor Bisel called a work session of the Lino Lakes City Council <br />to order at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, June 6, 1991. Council Members <br />present: Kuether, Reinert, Bohjanen, Neal. Council Members <br />absent: none. City Administrator, Randy Schumacher and Clerk - <br />Treasurer Marilyn Anderson were also present. <br />Hokanson Development, Inc., Wenzel Farms <br />Mr. Schumacher presented a letter from Kirk Corson, Hokanson <br />Development, Inc. regarding the development of Wenzel Farms and <br />his allegation that he was unable to get answers to questions and <br />he had problems getting in touch with individuals. The Council <br />discussed this matter at length. Mayor Bisel asked that a call <br />be made to Mr. Corson explaining that the Council did expedite <br />his project, that the Council wants Hokanson to build and explain <br />that the City needs their cooperation. He asked that it be <br />explained that ordinances and policies are in place and the <br />Council will not get involved. Mr. Corson must take his concerns <br />to the City Administrator. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Hokanson Development would like to <br />change the subdivision. They also have concerns regarding paying <br />for the extension of utilities. Council Member Kuether said she <br />has heard that assessments on each lot are approximately <br />$14,000.00. Mr. Schumacher explained that the assessments on the <br />town home lots are about $8,800.00. Mr. Schumacher asked the <br />Council to call him if they have any concerns about this matter <br />and he will get the facts. <br />Mr. Schumacher told the Council that he meets with staff every <br />Wednesday afternoon to review what is going on with each <br />subdivision. This meeting sometimes last three (3) hours <br />indicating that there is a lot of activity in Lino Lakes at this <br />time. <br />Consideration of City Council Compensation, Ordinance No. 03 - 91 <br />Mr. Schumacher presented a memorandum to the City dated June 6, <br />1991. The memorandum explained that the original ordinance <br />dealing with Council compensation was designed with the intention <br />of the Council being able to conduct business in two (2) meetings <br />per month. However, it is recognized that the Council now has <br />four (4) scheduled meetings per month, in addition to unscheduled <br />pre- meeting work sessions. <br />In order to keep up with the increased demand on a council <br />member's time, a per meeting charge may be implemented.
