SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 6, 1992
implement shared services. More information will follow on this
matter if neighboring cities will cooperate.
Mayor Reinert suggested that a Senior Watch Program be
implemented. A CSO person is on staff and available to implement
and follow up on this program.
Mayor Reinert asked for a better relationship with the Charter
Commission and asked to meet with the Commission at least once a
year. He asked that if there are differences between the
Council and the Charter Commission, they be worked out so that
both bodies can work together and move forward in a more positive
vein.
Mayor Reinert noted that other matters will surface as the
Council meets in work sessions. He expected that the Council
will make mistakes but asked that the community bear with them
and let the Council know any concerns. Hopefully, this will allow a smoother Council meeting.
It will also help avoid the last minute agenda items. It is
understood that all Council Members will not be able to attend
all work sessions. The first work session is scheduled for 5:00
P.M., Tuesday, January 7, 1992 and the following work sessions
are scheduled for 5:00 P.M. each Wednesday on a regular basis.
Schilling Lino Industrial Park Update - Council Member Kuether
said there may be a misunderstanding regarding the purchase of
this property. Council Member Kuether explained that the
purchase of this property is a very "good deal" for the City and
said that the seller would require a down payment if the City
insisted that the 1991 assessments be paid.
Mr. Hawkins explained that when the City sells the lots, the
assessment costs will be included in the sale price. Eventually
the City will get the assessments back. He asked if the City
PAGE 9
