1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 8, 1992 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DATE April 8, 1992 <br />TIME STARTED : 4:00 P.M <br />TIME ENDED : 6:45 P.M. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Reinert, Neal, Elliott <br />MEMBERS ABSENT Kuether <br />Staff members present: Don Volk, Public Works Director; City <br />Engineer, Darrell Schneider; City Administrator, Randy Schumacher <br />and Clerk - Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. Council Member Elect, John <br />Bergeson was also present. <br />Common Grounds Meeting - Mr. Schumacher explained that another <br />meeting has been scheduled for April 15, 1992. Each City was <br />asked to submit a calendar of dates that would be open for future <br />Common Ground meetings. To date calendars have been received <br />from the City of Circle Pines and the City of Lexington. <br />However, the City of Centerville had not submitted a calendar. <br />Mr. Schumacher also noted that all Council Members were asked to <br />list issues for discussion by the joint City Councils during the <br />Common Ground meetings. He is also asking the Council Members to <br />rank their issues. Mr. Schumacher will submit the list to Circle <br />Pines Administrator, Jim Keinath who is coordinating the lists. <br />Mr. Schumacher also noted that the Municipal Board has scheduled <br />a public hearing on the detachment request from several of Lino <br />Lakes landowners for April 15, 1992. He had notified the City of <br />Centerville that he would like to postpone the public hearing to <br />allow for additional time to gather information. Centerville had <br />initially said, "no way" but then said that they would go along <br />with what the Municipal Board wanted. <br />Senior Housing Proposal - Derrick Companies - Mr. Schumacher <br />explained that he has met with Mr. Roger Derrick who is putting <br />together a senior housing proposal. He also checked some of the <br />other projects recently completed by the Derrick Companies. <br />There would be some federal financing and Mr. Derrick is seeking <br />support of the City Council through participation in tax <br />increment financing. <br />PAGE 1 <br />227 <br />
