CLOSED COUNCIL MEETING MAY 22, 1995 <br />explaining that the Lino Lakes employees want a salary that is <br />comparable with other similar cities. He noted that the mechanic <br />is earning $2.50 per hour less that the average mechanic in the <br />cities surveyed. <br />Council Member Kuether asked if the City Council should be <br />concerned with the Pay Equity Plan when determining salary <br />increases. Mr. Schumacher said that this has already been done. <br />Council Member Bergeson asked Mr. Schumacher to give the City <br />Council a list of job titles along with the current annual <br />salary. <br />Mayor Reinert asked that the total dollar value of the proposed <br />settlement package be calculated. <br />Mr. Schumacher listed the three (3) areas that have not been <br />settled: 1) creation of "lead worker" position, 2) salary, and <br />3) insurance. <br />Council Member Kuether asked if the contract could cover a longer <br />period. Mr. Schumacher explained that the Union feels that <br />conditions may change during this period and will not take the <br />risk. <br />Mr. Schumacher will prepare a total package of benefits and costs <br />so that the budget impact can be determined.
