88 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 12, 1995 <br />background investigations were normal. <br />Mrs. Anderson recommended that the City Council adopt a motion <br />approving the renewal of all liquor licenses with the exception <br />of Ross' Liquors. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to approve the recommendation of the <br />City Clerk. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Consideration of an On -Sale 3.2 Beer License and Cabaret License <br />for St. Joseph Catholic Church - Mrs. Anderson explained that the <br />St. Joseph August Festival will be held the weekend of August 12 <br />and 13, 1995. The Festival will be held in the church parking <br />lot. A license is required for the sale of 3.2 beer and a <br />cabaret license is required for the dances that will be held each <br />evening. <br />A certificate of insurance accompanied the application forms. <br />There have been no reported concerns regarding this annual event. <br />Mrs. Anderson recommended that the City Council adopt a motion <br />approving both the 3.2 beer license and the cabaret license. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to approve the City Clerks <br />recommendation. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Set Work Session for City Council and Staff to Prepare 1996 <br />Operating Budget - Mr. Schumacher explained that the City Council <br />meets with administration and department heads each year to <br />review the proposed budget for the upcoming year and discuss <br />department needs and programs. This process usually takes one <br />full day. Mr. Schumacher recommended that the City Council <br />select a date between August 14, 1995 and August 18, 1995 to <br />complete the review. <br />It was noted that some members of the City Council will be <br />unavailable that week. Mr. Schumacher will have Ms. Viger poll <br />the City Council to determine if all members can attend a work <br />session on August 21, 1995. <br />The City Council recessed into a closed session at 7:40 P.M. to <br />discuss the labor contract for the International Union of <br />Operating Engineers, Local #49. <br />The City Council returned from recess at 7:58 P.M.
