Summary of Key Proposed Activities —The Project would involve the removal of invasive buckthorn in a woodland along at trail in the Birchwood Acres Neighborhood, and follow -up education program for Area 1 (Birchwood Acres), and Area 2 (Clearwater Creek). Area one is composed of approximately 6.8 acres, in a greenway area adjacent to a city trail. Residents have indicated an interest in buckthorn removal from a visibility standpoint. Area 2 is in the Clearwater Creek 3rd subdivision and was the first conservation development project that was planned in conjunction with or Environmental Inventory and Management Plan. This plan was accepted by the City in 1999, and will be incorporated into the City Comprehensive Plan. Area 1, was identified as a historic oak savanna (degraded). Clearwater Creek has a management plan and budget to restore greenway areas throughout the subdivision. Part of this management plan includes the removal of about 7.5 acres of invasive buckthorn:
