Summary of Key Proposed Activities —The Project would involve the removal <br />of invasive buckthorn in a woodland along at trail in the Birchwood Acres <br />Neighborhood, and follow -up education program for Area 1 (Birchwood Acres), <br />and Area 2 (Clearwater Creek). Area one is composed of approximately 6.8 <br />acres, in a greenway area adjacent to a city trail. Residents have indicated an <br />interest in buckthorn removal from a visibility standpoint. Area 2 is in the <br />Clearwater Creek 3rd subdivision and was the first conservation development <br />project that was planned in conjunction with or Environmental Inventory and <br />Management Plan. This plan was accepted by the City in 1999, and will be <br />incorporated into the City Comprehensive Plan. Area 1, was identified as a <br />historic oak savanna (degraded). Clearwater Creek has a management plan and <br />budget to restore greenway areas throughout the subdivision. Part of this <br />management plan includes the removal of about 7.5 acres of invasive buckthorn: <br />
