7/24/72 <br />Mr. Locher asked if the Council has abandoned purchasing land that would link up <br />Orange and Maple. He stated that he had talked with Mr. Nordin, but had not received <br />any further contact from him since his wife died. He noted that the taxes were <br />delinquent on Lot 11, but that Nordin was willing to trade it for one of our lots. <br />Mr. Jaowrski asked if we have to pay back taxes and was told Yes. Mr. Locher <br />noted that there would be a slight jog in the road but it would be in the ditch. <br />Mr. Cardinal asked how much the back taxes are; Mr. Locher hadn't checked <br />recently. <br />Following discussion, Mr. Jaowrski moved to have Mr. Locher contact Mr. Hausianden <br />and try to negotiate a trade with their lot and one of ours, and try to negotiate <br />with Mr. Nordin again to establish a cross street. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Mr. Locher gave details on the Hausladen lot. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen noted that the Plumbing Inspector is out of town for a period, that <br />his wife is taking the calls, and that Greg Cardinal from Hugo is doing the <br />inspections. He was pleased that Mr. Boyd had contacted him on this and gotten <br />someone to take his place; Mr. Boyd plans to be back soon if work picks up. <br />Mr. Bohjanen stated that we had authorized last year to have the 5 Village entrance <br />signs painted at a cost of $15.00 each, but the fellow hadn't gotten at ti due to <br />the weather. However, he had just received a call from him saying that he had <br />painted the 3 remaining signs; Mr. Bohjanen felt we should approve payment on <br />this. Council agreed that the man should submit a bill first. <br />Mr. Bohjanen asked if everyone got a copy of the Metro Sewer Board material on <br />sewer benefits; all had. Mr. Marier asked how Lino had come out in that meeting <br />last week; Mr. Bohjanen said he couldn't make the meeting. <br />Mr. Bohjanen noted that there would a public hearing on the Metro Council 5 -Year <br />Capital Improvements Plan onSeptember 4, at 2 P.M. <br />Mr. Bohjanen asked Mr. Jaworski if he had gotten anything done on the grading <br />back of the Hall. Mr. Jaworski had talked to Roy about having Ivan do it. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reported that Bill's Auto Repair had given him a rate of $.50 a mile <br />to town the police cars out of the Village. Members felt this was too high and <br />asked that he negotiate some more. <br />Northwest Saddle Club was on the agenda to present building plans. However, no <br />pland had been presented and on one was in attendance. Clerk was directed to call <br />the Club and tell them to have their plans in by 10 days before the next Council <br />meeting. they were put on the agenda for 9 P. M. <br />Mr. Dupre, Building Inspector, nod that the ark had asked him to give street <br />numbers to houses on 81st St. West (Miller's road), and said that the Post Office <br />wouldn't deliver mail there before. Clerk explained that as the road was to be <br />taken over by the Village, and new houses were being built there, the Engineer <br />had renemed it and she felt they should have house numbers for 81st. Mr. Locher <br />felt there should be no problem with the Post Office. Mr. Bohjanen recommended <br />that the Building Inspector determine numbers.:as requested and to also give a new <br />one to Mr. Boyd on 81st st. Fast. <br />The requisitions were discussed. Mr. Marier felt that all of the items for brake <br />work on the 1970 Plymouth should have been on one requisition, that the cost of labor <br />should have been included, and that too much money had been spent on the car with- <br />out authorization. Mr. Myhre stated that some of the work could not be done at the <br />dealers, so he took it elsewhere and got it done cheaper, he was not sure of the <br />V6taobgr5 host, but stated that only the brake work had been done, which amounted <br />
