1
1
10 -10 -72
Mr. Jaworski reported that he had a request for a 3.2 beer permit from the Drifter's
Snowmobile Club for October 15, 1972. Mr. Marier moved to grant a 3.2 beer permit
to the Club with the necessary insurance provided by the Club. Seconded by Mr.
Zelinka. Motion Carried.
Mr. Jaworski informed the Council: there is 12 miles of gravel roads in the Village
to be surfaced not including Pine Street and the County Line Road. Holly Drive
was discussed and it was decided that only the ends should be surfaced at this time.
The hollow in the center part of the road should only have gravel for the time being.
Mr. Marier reported that there was no meeting of the P &Z Board. He felt that the
ad for the Public Works Supervisor should not include the 40 hours per week clause.
The Clerk was instructed to contact the papers and remove that statement from the
ad.
Mr. Zelinka reported that there was no report from the Personnel Commission or the
Environmental Commission. The Personnel Commission is still working on new
application for employment forms. The Clerk was asked about applications for the
Clerk- Treasurer's position. She reported that she had received several applications
but that some had been mailed to the applicants and these have not been returned
as yet.
Mr. Gotwald reported that the Well and Sewer Contractors have finished their work
and the systems are ready for the final inspection by the Council and the Engineer
Mr. Gotwald suggested that a meeting be set up for the final inspection. It was
agreed that the inspection will take place on Saturday, October 14, 1972. The
interested parties will meet at 8:00 P. M. at the pump house in Chomonix. Mr.
Gotwald also reminded the Council that when this system is accepted by the Village
that they must assume the responsibility for pumping and hauling the waste. He
felt that now the system is sealed from surface water drainage the amount would
decrease. He was asked about the specs for the fence for the Rump house and reported
that he has them ready for Mr. Backlin. Mr. Zelinka asked if he had inspected the
street area around the pump house. Mr. Gotwald said that the area was not designed
as a turn-around, rather as a back in type of drive. He also felt that with the
area fenced the Police inspection could take place from the street side and a turn-
around was unnecessary. I f the Council felt that more street area was needed it
cou l d be done by removing part of the sodded area. Mr. Zelinka asked if the
fence proposed for the pump house would have a small gate. Mr. Gotwald said, No,
at the present time there is only a large gate in the specs. If the Council desired
a small walk =way gate it could be put in at a cost of about $75.00. No decision
was made on this. The Council will take a look at it during final inspection.
Mr. Zelinka asked if there was work being done on the Comprehensive Sewer Plan. Mr.
Gotwald said some of the basic drawings are being done but he is waiting for the
land usage map.
Mr. Locher read the petition to the Council which had been received at the Clerk's
office on October 10, 1972. The petition requested the Council to ascertain why
the State Highway Department will not sell back the land adjacent to the property
located near the intersection of Old Highway #8 and Highway #49. Mr. Locher felt
that this was a private matter between the property owners and the State Highway
Department. Mrs. Hopkins said that the County Attorney advised them to bring this
mater before the Village Council since they have already contacted the State
Highway Department and have received no answer from them. Mr. Marier moved to have
the Clerk draft a letter to the State Highway Department asking their position in
this matter. Also informing them that the Village needs this information in order
to determine the usage of the land on either side of the Highway in that area. She
is to send copies of the petition and a copy of the map of that area. Seconded by
Mr. Jaworski. Motion Carried.
