74 <br />December 11, 1972 <br />Mr. Marier reported that there had been no P &Z meeting therefore he had no report. <br />Mr. Zelinka reported that there had been no Enviromental or Personnel meetings. He <br />had no report. There will be a meeting of the Personnel Commission on Wednesday, <br />December 13, 1972 and an Enviornmental Commission meeting on Tuesday, December 12, 1972. <br />Mr. Locher reported that the Auditor's office had accepted the payments that we have <br />received for the Special Assessments in the U. S. Lakes Addition #2, but we cannot accept <br />any more for this year. The Clerk can accept the payments for a l l years except 1973, <br />these have been put on the tax rolls and will be collected by the Auditor's office. Also <br />in the future the Clerk can only accept payments up to the 15th of November. After that <br />date the assessments are put on the tax rolls. <br />Mr. Locher reported on correspondence concerning the b i l l from Johnson Plumbing for the <br />repair of the airconditioning unit. They felt that the installation of the fence was too <br />close thus causing the unit to overheat. Mr. Gotwald asked if we have a maintenance <br />contract on the unit. No one could remember if we did or not. Mr. Cardinal moved to <br />pay the bill. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Locher had checked with several agancies on the launching of a helicopter adjacent <br />to Old Highway #8., and found that there are practically no restrictions for these machines. <br />They can be launched from and landed almost any place. <br />Mr. Gotwald had contacted Mr. Jewel of the Forest Lake School District about the truck <br />and tanker that they used for pumping sewage and are now putting up for bids. The truck <br />is a 22 ton, 1966 Ford withLa 5200 gallon tanker. They have $7000.00 invested and would <br />like to get around $5500.00 out of it. Mr. Zelinka and Mr. Jaworski will take a look <br />at it, and Mr. Marier thought he would be able to see it too. <br />Mr. Marier gave Mr. Bohjanen's report. Mr. Bohjanen felt that out water and sewer <br />rates as listed in the Ordinances are too low. This will be discussed lated in <br />conjunction with the Ordinances. <br />Mr. Krause appeared before the Council in response to a letter concerning the small <br />business he operates from his garage located on Ware Road. He said that he has been <br />operating seasonally since 1971. Mr. Locher read the part of our Ordinance that covers <br />such operation. This Ordinance became effective on August 5, 1971. Mr. Krause said <br />he Sales Tax Permits dated prior to that date. The Council asked that he bring them to <br />the office so that a copy may be made of them for our records. Mr. Krause asked about <br />the requirements for a sign. At the present time he doesn't have one, but is thinking <br />about putting one up. He was told that he must fill out a sign application form. He <br />can get this from the Clerk. Mr. Locher was asked if Mr. Krause needed a special use <br />permit. Mr. Locher said, No, that if he was in operation before the Ordinance became <br />effective, then he would come under the grandfather clause. Mr. Krause said he would <br />bring in the permits for the Clerk to copy. Mr. Marier thanked him for responding <br />to our letter. <br />1 <br />The Council returned to the discussion on water and sewer charges. Mr. Weigly from <br />the Water Products Company was in the audience and said he had a copy of charges used <br />by the communities surrounding the Twin City area. He asked if the Council would like <br />to take a look at it. Mr. Zelinka said Yes, and thanked him. Mr. Zelinka read some of <br />the charges but since the list is quite extensive, the Clerk was asked to make copies III <br />for all Council members. <br />Mr. Marier read part of a letter from North Central announcing a raising of rates <br />for natural gas. <br />
