1 <br />1 <br />December 1 1 , 1972 <br />Mr. Ruffing from the Water Products Company appeared before the Council and explained <br />the Rockwell Water Meter. He had brought one to show the Council and also a remote <br />read -out unit. This unit is $10.00 over and above the cost of the water meter. There <br />was discussion on this and Mr. Ruffing answered questions from the Council. <br />The Council set Monday, December 18th, for a special meeting to duscuss the water and <br />sewer Ordinances and the water meters so that they can make a decision at the December <br />26th Council meeting. This special meeting will start at 7:30 P. M. <br />Mr. Backlin had checked 4 home in the Chomonix area and found difference as to the space <br />left for the installation of water meters. The Clerk was asked to write U. S. lakes and <br />ask that the installation of water pipes be uniform so that the meters can be installed <br />properly. <br />The Clerk- Treasurer's position was brought up and Mr. Zelinka moved to delay until the <br />personnel Commission could review the applicatns this Wednesday evening. Seconded by <br />Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried. They will also review the position of a full time <br />supervisor and their recommendation for the next Council meeting. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to have the Personnel Commission take a look into the billing system <br />for the water and sewer since this will involve more time and possible more personnel. <br />Mr. Jaworski seconded. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk is to make a copy of all applications for the Personnel Commission. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to allow the use of the Village Hall for Friday, December 15, 1972, <br />by the Happy Hustlers 4H Club for their Christmas party. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka said that in taking a look at the amendment to Ordinance 43A listed as 43C, <br />he found that it was not the intention of the Council to remove the position of the <br />Working Supervisor from all benefits in the Ordinance; just from the hourly pay clause. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to recind Ordinacnce 43C and have Mr. Locher rewrite an amendment to <br />Ordinance 43A in line with their intentions. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried. <br />frr. Jaworski said the Council should be thinking about the "Citizen of the Year" award. <br />He had a name he would like to submit but would do this in private in order to keep <br />the award a secret. <br />Mr. Jaworski also said that at the last Council meeting there had been discussion on <br />the placing of street lights but no decision has been made. He moved to have the <br />Clerk write the power companies and request the installation of street lights at the <br />designated spots. Mr. Cardinal seconded. Motion carried. The information is on Page <br />5, paragraph 2 of the November 27, 1972 minutes. <br />Mr. Zelinka asked if Mr. Locher or Mr. Gotwald had approached the Metro Sewer Board on <br />the pumping in the Chomonix area. Mr. Gotwald said they are awaiting until we have some <br />facts and figures for them ro present. Mr. Locher said that they hadn't approached <br />them at this time because they wanted to waid until after the 1st thus insuring no <br />charges for 1972. <br />Mr. Marier asked Mr. Locher to read Minnesota Statute 398.32, Sub.l, dealing with the <br />jurisdiction of the County over local governments in the matter of Park Lands. <br />Mr. Jaworski asked if there had been a meeting set up for the Open Space Commission. Mr. <br />Marier said not that he knew of. <br />
