1 <br />1 <br />April 23, 1973 <br />Mr. Jaworski felt that by the end of the Year there should be reduction in <br />cost. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to leave the youth laborer wages at 2.70 per hour. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. There was discussion on this with Mr. Marier moving <br />to amend the motion to the effect that the starting salary for this age <br />group be 2.40 per hour to go to 2.70 after 3 months. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski. Motion carried. The original motion carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the Weed Inspector salary from 2.70 per hour <br />to 3.00 per hour. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried with Mr. <br />Marier abstaining. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the Fire Marshall's salary from 190.00 per <br />year to 204.00 per year. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried with <br />Mr. Marier and Mr. Cardinal abstaining. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the salary of the Election Judges from 2.34 <br />per hour to 2.50 per hour. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka reported that this next portion he wasn't sure just it was <br />handled but he had told the Personnel Commission that he would present it <br />to the Council. Their recommendation was to raise the councilmen salaries <br />from 50.00 per month to 60.00 per month and the expense from 15.00 per <br />month to 20.00 per month. There was discussion on how this was done with <br />Mr. Locher reading from the Ordinance. To raise the salaries of the council, <br />it must be done by ordinance and will not take effect until Jan.1, 1974. <br />Mr. Zelinka so moved. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried with <br />Mr. Marier voting, No. Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the expenses from 15.00 <br />per month to 20.00 per month. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Marier voting, No, and Mr. Zelinka abstaining. <br />Mr. Pete Scherer was in the audience and he felt that the Counci Imen <br />should be paid 25.00 per meeting and the Mayor 35.00 per meeting. He <br />felt that they were very underpaid. The Council thanked him for his <br />thoughts. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reminded the Council of the Board of Review Meeting on May <br />9, 1973, at 8:00 P.M. He was asked if the entire Council had to attend. <br />He said Yes, that it was necessary to have a quorum and he suggested that <br />they plan to attend. <br />Mr. Bohjanen also reported there is a meeting on Apri 124, 1973 in the <br />Anoka County Commissioners chambers concerning the County ditches. He <br />hoped someone would be able to attend. Also there was a meeting of the <br />Fire Chiefs and Mayors on the centra l anti on of the radio setup. <br />Mr. Locher reviewed the contract with the MSB and reported that the had <br />talked with Mr. Dougherty and that the amount they are willing to pay us <br />was about 10.00 per load. <br />He would like the estimated cost figures for the operation of the tanker <br />and ask the Clerk to contact Mr. Juehl, of the Forest Lake School District <br />to see if we could get a figure from him. <br />1 <br />
