128 <br />Apri 125, 1973 <br />Mr. Jaworski announced that the Park Association will hold a rummage <br />sale this Sunday April 29, 1973, from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the <br />Village Hall. <br />He also requested one day in May to sell what is left over, the date <br />will be decided on at a later time. The Council was agreeable to this. <br />Mr. Zelinka reported that the Personnel Commission had met to review sal- <br />aries and had made the fol lowing recommendations: Mr. Zelinka moved to <br />raise the Patrolmen salaries from $425.00 uncertified and $150.00 <br />certified to $150.00 uncertified and $175.00 certified with a raise of <br />$185.00 after six months employment. Mr. Marier asked if the total <br />cost of the total package had be computed. Mr. Zelinka said this is about <br />a 7% increase based on 70 hours per month. Mr. Marier asked for the <br />hours the Patrolmen work. Mr. Myhre said he only has a schedule for the <br />nights on duty, not actual hours. Mr. Marier asked if he could furnish <br />the Council with the hours, Mr. Myhre said, Yes, he would work into the <br />schedule. There was discussion on the allowable amount of raise we could <br />give under the wage restrictions. Mr. Locher said it was his understanding <br />that these restrictions did not apply to municipalities. The vote on mot- <br />ion was as follows: Mr. Bohjanen, Mr. Jaworski and Mr. Zelinka voted Yes. <br />Mr. Marier, No, Mr. Cardinal abstained. Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the <br />Police Chief's salary from $225.00 per month to $250.00 per month and the <br />Sargent's salary from 200.00 per month to 225.00 per month. Seconded by <br />Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried with Mr. Marier and Mr. Cardinal abstaining. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the Depute Clerk's salary from 2.60 per hour <br />to 3.00 per hour. Mr. Marier questioned the hours the Clerk was authorized <br />for Deputy work and asked if this would be covered by the budget. The <br />Clerk said that she was sure she could keep the Deputy's salary within <br />the budgeted amount. The motion was seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion <br />carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to increase the janitor's salary from 2.70 per hour <br />to 3.00 per hour. There was discussion on how many hours he worked <br />per week. The motion was seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the mechanics salary from 4.50 per hour to <br />4.75 per hour. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. There was discussion on the <br />repair of vehicles and which was the most economical way to do this. Mr. <br />Backlin has a record of all work done on each vehicle. Mr. Jaworski <br />will complete a comparision cost between an established garage and our <br />own shop on these cost. Motion carried with Mr. Marier abstaining. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to raise the laroberes and truck drivers salaries from <br />3.25 per hour to 3.75 per hour. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Mr. Marier <br />said his understanding was that when wehired a full time man that the <br />total wages would be lowered but from looking at the payroll he felt that <br />this was not happening. Mr. Jaworski said this was because we have such <br />a backlog of work that should have been done a long time ago and the work <br />is being done sooner and better. The overall cost is more but were doing <br />more work and were hauling the sewage. Motion carried with Mr. Marier <br />abstaining. <br />
