May 14, 1973 <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the minutes of the Apri 123, 1973 meeting <br />as presented. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Resch appeared in behalf of the Lino Lakes Recreation Association <br />asking for permission to use the Hall for a meeting at 8:30 P.M. on <br />May 23, 1973. Mr. Jaworski moved to grant the use of the Hall to the <br />Association. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk reported that in order for the new Police Officers to become <br />part of the Police and Fire Fund of the PERA, she needed a resolution <br />to that effect passed by the Village Council. Mr. Zelinka moved to pass <br />the following resolution: <br />"Resolved that the Council of the Village of Lino Lakes duly <br />assembled in meeting on May 14, 1973, does hereby declare that <br />the position now held by Gary P. Dold and Salvatore Costa on a <br />part time basis, is that of a Police Officer as defined in <br />Minnesota Statues, Section 353.64, Subdivision 2, pursuant to <br />which said employees shall become a member of the Public Employees <br />Police and Fi re Fund." <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Wally Moen, of the V.F.W. Post appeared before the Council. The <br />V.F.W. Post would like to donate a Flag to the Village, and would <br />like to set a time for a formal dedication presentation and raise the <br />Flag at the same time. He would like to do this at 10:00 A.M. on <br />Memorial Day if this is agreeable with the Counci I. He wi II bring a <br />cerominal team with him. These arrangements were agreeable with the <br />Council members. He would also like to remind the people there will <br />be a Public Memorial Day Service held at the Post at 1 1 :00 A.M. on the <br />same day anll all people are invited to attend. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to have the Clerk write a letter of appreciation to <br />the Post. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski said in view of the fact that we now have a full time man <br />at the Hall every day, he would move that the Flag only be flown during <br />the hours that the Village Hall is open. There was discussion on this <br />point with Mr. Bohjanen feeling that the Flag should fly 24 hours a day, <br />and Mr. Jaworski feeling that it should not. The motion died for lack <br />of a second. <br />The subject of the Leo Bruder property was opened with Mr. Bohjanen <br />asking for comments from the people in the audience. Mr. and Mrs. C. <br />Frazer were in attendance as was Mr. Hutchinson, from the Anoka Health <br />Department. <br />Mr. Locher gave a brief history of the action that had been taken in <br />the past and the apparent non - results. He had some pictures that were <br />taken recently and said that the property was in better condition than <br />a year ago but that it still left a lot to be desired. <br />
