Oct. 23, 1973 <br />Mr. Bohjanen asked for suggested names for the Chairman and his Advisory Board to <br />serve on the Forest Lake Community Education Program. He requested that each <br />Councilman have one or two names for consideration by the next Council meeting. <br />He also reported that Mrs. Sarner will be on the Advisory Board for the Centennial <br />School District. <br />Mr. Cardinal was absent but the Park Board had brought their minutes to the Clerk's <br />office and Mr. Bohjanen reported on this. Mr Kent will arrange for the trailer to <br />be used as a warming house and the Park Board will stake out the skating rink at <br />the Hall. They will also check on poles for the lighting and will sumit a schedule <br />of caretakers for the warming house. There was a discussion on poles for lights. Mr. <br />Marier and Mr. Zelinka will do some checking and report back. <br />Mr. Jaworski presented preliminary specs for the storage building to be built in <br />the spring. The size was 40'X80'. There was discussion on the width. The Council <br />feeling that the footage should be in increments of twelve, thus avoiding penalty <br />because of waste. Mr. Jaworski is to contact builders of this type of building on <br />this question. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to have the specs for the building drawn up by Engineer. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />The repair of the brakes on the 1970 Plymouth was discussed. There was two bids. <br />Mr. Hager felt that we should do a complete job including the turning of the drums. <br />There was some question of how much longer this car would be used by the Police <br />department since a new one is in the 1974 budget. Mr. Zelinka moved to accept the <br />bid from Apitz Garage. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Backlin reported that the rear end in the 1973 Plymouth is still not working <br />correctly. Also the last time the car was in, the mechanics had lowered the front <br />end by 4" and the front tires are beginning to wear. He suggested sending a <br />telegram or a registered letter to the Sales Manager of the Chrysler Corporation <br />itemizing the work done and detailing the trouble. The Council instructed the Clerk <br />to write such a letter. <br />Mr. Zelinka presented the revised application form for the Police Department and <br />since -all members had a copy, he moved that this form be approved. Seconded by Mr. <br />Marier. Motion carried. Since the demand for these blanks is relatively light, the <br />Clerk was instructed to cut stencils and run them on the mimeograph. <br />Mr. Zelinka also requested that the Building Inspector be directed to inspect the <br />burned out house on Gladstone in the Lakeview area, fine the owner and either <br />direct him to repair or raze. The Building Inspector is also to report back at the <br />next Council meeting with his recommendations for partially completed buildings and <br />buildings he would condemn. <br />Mr. Zelinka also felt that the Enviornmental Commission should be informed of the <br />progress in connection with the gravel pit. He requested that the Clerk write a <br />letter to Mr. Hawkins. <br />Mr. Marier asked Mr. Bohjanen the procedure for hiring a Deputy Clerk. Mr. <br />Bohjanen said the Clerk- Treasurer has been doing it. Mr. Marier said she has no <br />authority to do so, The hiring of the Deputy -Clerk must go through the Council. <br />Mr. Zelinka said he would take this up with the Personnel Commission at their next <br />meeting. Mr. Marier moved that ads for a Deputy -Clerk be run in the three local <br />papers. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried. <br />
