December 10, 1973
Mr. Backlin had arrived. He apoligized for being late but the furnace in the
pump house had been out and he was having trouble getting it started. He gave Mr.
Cardinal the figures on an International low boy similar to the one we now have.
There were figures on a 24 month and 36 month lease plan which, with an extra
$1.00 on the final payment would make the tractor the property of the Village.
This was discussed and the alternative of purchasing it. There must be two bids
in writing for anything under $5000.00.
Mr. Marier moved to get another bid and present this at the next meeting. Seconded
by Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried unanimously.
The Clerk asked if she should have the payroll ready before Christmas. Mr.
Jaworski moved to issue the paychecks the week before Christmas. Seconded by Mr.
Marier. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Jaworski moved to close the Village Hall on December 24, 1973. Seconded by
Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried unanmiously.
Mr. Locher reminded the Council that the last meeting of December would be on the
26th of the month.
Mr. Jaworski questioned requistion #344 what is it for? Mr. Backlin answered that
this is LP Gas for the torch in the tanker to keep the valves open. Mr. Jaworski
felt that only one was necessary. #340 was discussed. It was agreed to cut this
to units of lots.
Mr. Marier moved to approve requisition #340 - #342 through #345 with the above
corrections. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Motion carried.
Mr. Jaworski questioned Check #5470. He felt that the charges on the gas for
heating the pump house was excessive. He asked the Clerk to check the rates and
determine if natural gas or propane rates were being charged. He requested this
check to be held.
Mr. Marier moved to pay bills #5458 through #5492, holding #5470. Seconded by
Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
Mr. Marier moved to adjourn at 9:35 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Aye.
The minutes approved at the meeting of December 26, 1973.#
a.
Clerk - Treasurer
