234 <br />January 14, 1974 <br />The first regular council meeting of the City of Lino Lakes convened on Jan. <br />14, 1974. <br />The Oath of Office was adminstered to Mayor William I. Bohjanen and Councilman <br />John McLean, by Mr. Landol Locher. <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:05P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen. Councilmen present; <br />Jaworski, McLean, Marier, Zelinka. Absent; none. Attorney Locher and Engineer <br />Gotwald were also present. <br />The "Citzen of the Year" award for outstanding contributions to the community <br />was presented to Henry Rosengren by Mayor Bohjanen. <br />Mr. Arnold Kelling was presented a "Certificate of Nomination" in connection <br />with the Ludwig award. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to approve the minutes of December 26, 1973 as written. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried with Mr. McLean abstaining. <br />The Clerk's report included the following items; <br />The first Federal Revenue Sharing check had been received in the amount of <br />$7,188.00. <br />Gopher Bounty refund from Anoka County for $61.70. <br />Payment from the MSB for November and December sewage hauling in the amounts <br />of $587.50 and $637.50. <br />Reported on the request for "No Parking Signs" on Highway 49. These will be <br />installed by the State Highway Department. <br />Received an answer regarding the cut -off at Highway 49 and Old Highway 8. <br />A map was included to mark the spot indicating the problem area. This was <br />done and the answer will be sent to the State Highway Department. <br />Read the Lexington Fire Department report and made note of the fact that <br />monthly reports will be sent in the coming year. <br />Read the Centerville Fire Department report. There was discussion on the <br />fire on Dec. 20, 1973, on the Ed LaMotte property. The Fire Department re- <br />ported that since the owner was burning old cars and he wanted them to burn, <br />the fire department left. The general feeling of the Council was that since <br />there had been no permit obtained by Mr. LaMotte he was in direct violation <br />of our Ordinance and also, there was violation of the PCA. Mr. Jaworski <br />moved that a letter be written to the Centerville Fire Department asking <br />for clairfication of this fire and why it was not extinguished. Seconded <br />by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />Read a letter from Mr. Jerry Hanson requesting permission to park a truck <br />trailer on the Northeast corner of the Village property. This unit would be <br />used by Scout Troop 136 and Cub Pack 136 to collect paper for recycling. MR. <br />McLean questioned the Fire Code on the storage of combustible materials. There <br />was discussion on this point. The unit would only be open one Saturday a month, <br />would be manned by the Scouts with an adult in attendance; The unit would be <br />locked at all other times. The general consensus of the Council was there was <br />no objections to this operation. Mr. Zelinka moved that subject to invest- <br />
