January 14, 1974 <br />igation and ascertation of no violations of State Fire Code and no liability <br />by the City before this request be approved. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion <br />carried unaminously. <br />Mr. Locher will research this and pass the information to the Clerk. <br />Mr. Marier moved that all appointments be voted on individually by the entire Council. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended Mr. Landol Locher as City Attorney. Mr. Zelinka so moved. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Carley Engineering with Mr. George Gotwald as representative was recommended for <br />Engineers for the City. Mr. Zelinka so moved. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommend Mr. Albert Dupre for building inspector. There was no <br />motion to that effect. Mayor Bohjanen turned to chair over to acting Mayor Zelinka <br />and moved that Mr. Dupre be appointed as Building Inspector. Mr. Zelinka asked for <br />a second to the motion three times. Motion died for lack of a second. Mayor <br />Bohjanen resumed the chair and Mr. Jaworski moved to appoint Mr. Henry Amundsen as <br />Building Inspector. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended the appointment of Edna Sarner as Assessor. Mr. Marier <br />wanted the compatability of the Assessor's office and that of the Clerk- Treasurer <br />clarified. His understanding was that the two offices were incompatable. <br />Mr. Locher said that under the Standard form of government where the Clerk has a <br />vote, the offices are incompatable, but Lino Lakes operates under Optional Plan A <br />and the Clerk does not have a vote, thus the offices are compatable. Mr. Locher <br />read an Attorney General's ruling citing this. <br />The question of Deputy Assessor - who hires and who pays was asked. Mr. Locher <br />wasn't sure but will check. The Council proceeded to the next appointments and will <br />return to this later. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended the appointment of R. V. Ellingsen as Weed Inspector. <br />Mr. Marier so moved. Mr. Jaworski seconded. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended that Bruce Fleming be retained for Animal Control. Mr. <br />Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen said that Mr. Livingston had resigned as Fire Marshall and he <br />recommended Mr. Art Robyn for appointment to that position. Mr. Zelinka so moved. <br />Mayor Bohjanen seconded. Motion failed with Mr. Bohjanen and Mr. Zelinka voting <br />for and Mr. Jaworski, Mr. McLean and Mr. Marier voting against. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to appoint Mr. Milford Kline as Fire Marshall. Seconded by Mr. <br />McLean. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended the appointment of Waldemar Hill as Auditor. Mr. Zelinka <br />so moved. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended Robert Vadnais as Plumbing Inspector. Mr. Marier so moved. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen recommended Mr. Lee Starr as Planning Consultant. Mr. Marier so moved. <br />Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
