258
March 11, 1974
The vote on the motion was unanimous.
Mr. Zelinka asked if the City could be taken to Court for not applying for this
program?
Mr. Locher said that it had been done some where in either Illinois or Iowa, but
he had no knowledge of the outcome.
There was discussion on the high cost of this insurance and the fact that normal
run -off and seepage was not covered, and the fact that if it was under funded, the
cost could fall on the City.
Received a letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities asking for
nominations for the C. C. Ludwig Award. No action was taken on this.
Read a letter from North Central Public Service announcing a rate reduction
due to a drop in rates from the supplier, Northern Natural Gas.
Received a survey form the U. S. Department of Labor in connection with use of
Federal Revenue Sharing Funds.
Read a letter of resignation from Gary Dold, member of the Lino Lakes Police
Department.
Mr. Jaworski moved to accept the resignation. Seconded by Mr. Marier.
Mr. Marier moved to write a letter of 'Thanks' and appreciation to Mr. Dold.
Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. The vote on the original
motion carried unanimously.
Received a letter from the Anoka County Highway Department in connection with
the requested speed signs for Ash Street. The Traffic Control Supervisor will
be stopping by the office on this matter.
Received a letter from the Metropolitan Council in reference to the Anoka
County Major Crime Investigation Unit. Metropolitian Council Referral File No.
- 1953. Mr. Locher looked at this and could find no objections. There was no
action taken by the Council.
Read a letter from Jackie Berhow, Social Chairman for the Pinto Association
requesting the use of the Hall for March 24, 1974. Mr. Marier questioned
authorizing the use of the Hall from someone out of State. This request should
come from a local resident. Mr. Marier moved that the Clerk notify Jackie
Berhow that in order for the use of the Hall to be authorized for their use, the
request will be considered at the March 25, 1974 meeting. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Clerk had received $191.25 in municipal fines.
Mr. Zelinka presented the Mayor's report. Scout Troop #136 had requested the use
of the Hall on March 19, 1974 for a meeting.
Mr. Marier asked what the meeting was for? Is this a regular meeting or a special,
meeting? He had no objections if there is a responsible adult in charge and the
building is left in a clean condition. Also to allow the use for special use only,
not as a regular schedule. Mr. Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion
carried.
1
1
