1
1
1
March 11, 1974
Mr. Jaworski reported that he had checked the roads and basically they are in good
condition. He was concerned about the streets that were surfaced last year. The
ones that were black topped are in good condition. The streets that were seal
coated have some soft spots that will need repair.
Mr. Jaworski also questioned the signs that have been erected by Fretag /Anderson
on Lake Drive and the service road East I35E. The Clerk has written to the firm
asking that those signs either be removed or they apply for a sign permit. There
has been no answer to this date.
Mr. Jaworski moved to table the building and truck specs until the next Council
meeting. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried.
Mr. Marier asked Mr. Locher if he could have the Resolution typed for the meeting
with the County Commissioners with a place for signatures of both the Council and
the County Commissioners. Also with a place for the seals.
On Exhibit A, Mr. Marier asked if the two lands in question could be discussed. 1.
Jandric's land and 2. Kohlers. He suggested deleting Kohler's property and let Mr.
Jandric make his own decision.
Mr. Locher said he would have the Resolution typed as Mr. Marier had requested.
Also, he had been informed by Mr. Parta that the Judge had signed the condemnation
order concurring with the County. He has not received notice of this in writing.
Mr. Marier asked if the Judge was aware of the agreement between the County and
the City.
Mr. Locher said this decision was concerned with the legal aspects of the right of
condemnation by the County and not with the agreement.
Mr. Marier moved to ratify the request he had made. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion
carried unanimously.
Mr. Locher said that the Resolution has been approved by both the County and the
City except for Exhibit A and the signing of the. agreement is just a matter of
formality. He felt that this could be done at this meeting.
The Council will meet at the City Hall at 7:00 p.m. The Clerk was asked to call
Mayor Bohjanen and tell him of this arrangement.
Mr. Marier reminded the Council of the Public Hearing on the Comprehensive Land
Use Plan that is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, 1974. All Council members
should attend this hearing.
Mr. McLean reported that the next meeting of the Park Board will be on March 18,
1974. He had asked the Clerk to send reminder notices to all members.
Mr. McLean moved to table discussion of Ordinance 57A in order to give members the
opportunity to study. This Ordinance will be on the agenda for the March 25, 1974
meeting. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Zelinka reported that he had been unable to attend the Utility Commission
meeting that was held Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. The Clerk had given him the
Utilities report from Circle Pines. He would table a report on this until March
25, 1974 in order to study it.
