49 <br />7/12/71 <br />Mr. Gotwald stated that he again would like to try to set up a meeting on the <br />Chomonix sewer and water assessments. They want water anyway, but Jandric is <br />holding things up. He had called Springsted and found that Mr. Springsted would <br />be free tomorrow and Friday. He noted that Vince Lombardi, Jr., had bought a <br />lot in Lakes Addition No. 2. Mr. Cardinal moved to set a meeting on the Chomonix <br />assessments for Friday, July 16th at 5 :30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. <br />Carried unanimously. The Clerk will contact Springsted and Jandric. <br />A request had been received from North Central Public Service to install service <br />to Zelinka's Forjay greenhouses. Mr. Rosengren noted an error in the wording <br />where it mentions 4th Avenue crossing Hwy. #49 which it doesn't. Mr. Gotwald <br />stated that he had no objection since the place is in their area; no other <br />objections were voiced. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that he had had a call from Bill Horbal of the Oasis who is <br />closing a sale on the place, Mr. Horbal had brought the prospective buyer to the <br />meeting. Mr. L'Allier felt that we should hear him and have the police investi- <br />gate his background; the matter can be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. <br />Mr. Horbal introduced Larry Cichy who stated that he has a recommendation from <br />the Brooklyn Park police. He stated that he has part time interest there in a <br />club. Mr. Cichy stated that he is looking for a house in the vicinity so that <br />he can meet the residency requirements. He wished to incorporate the business. <br />Mr, Cardinal moved to authorize the. police to conduct their usual investigation <br />of Mr. Cichy and to place the matter on the next agenda. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. <br />Carried unanimously. Mr. .Cichy stated that his attorney was Gerald Singer and <br />that he could call him if we had questions. Mr. L'Allier adivsed that he gave <br />his attorney call Mr. Locher if he had questions. <br />Mr. L'Allier felt that the discussion on advertising for a ftill -time man should <br />be held at the Friday meeting. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that he had heard that next year it will be mandatory <br />that municipalities allow the use of plastic pipe in plumbing. Mr. Gotwald <br />stated that it was rumored that there will be a maximum law where we can't <br />exceed the specifications set forth by the State. He commented on additional <br />costs for permits. The Clerk was asked to drop a note to the Building Inspector <br />to see if he is up -dated on the surcharge; also, to write for a copy of the new <br />State code. <br />Mr. L'Allier noted that Mr. Ellingsen, Weed Inspector, was in attendance. Mr. <br />Ellingsen stated that he was ready to start cutting and spraying weeds on Wednesday <br />or Thursday. He asked that if anyone knows of any wild hemp they should let <br />him know so that it can by sprayed. He noted that in the SW part of the State, <br />the State way paying up to $45 per acre to get rid of the weed. Mr. L'Allier <br />felt that Mr. Ellingsen should continue on as usual, to hire additional help <br />or machinery as necessary for his work. Mr. L'Allier suggested that we write <br />the County that we are spraying the roads and remind them to do likewise. <br />Mr. Ellingsen was asked to notify the Clerk if he found weeds uncut along <br />County roads; he noted that he is in contact with Dave Torkildson on this. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that he hadn't yet heard back on limiting candlepower on <br />signs, and asked Mr. Cardinal to take up the matter at the P&Z, Mr. Cardinal <br />noted that this had been mentioned at the P&Z previously. Mr. L'Allier asked <br />the clerk tomrite the State if they have any such recommendations. <br />The Clerk stated that she had received a request for street light at Linda and <br />Lauren. Mr, Rosengren noted that we should also have one here at the Ball by <br />
