7/26/71 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Village Council held on July 26, 1971 was <br />called to order at 8:10 P.M. by-Acting Mayor Ronald Jaworski. All Council members <br />were present with the exception of Mayor L'Allier who was out of town. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve the minutes of the July 12, 1971 meeting as written. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to approve the minutes of the special July 16th Council meeting_ <br />as written. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried with Mr. Bohjanen abstaining. <br />The Clerk reported receipt of the following: Municipal court fines in the amount <br />of $158.76; a letter from John M. Kirkvold,.Area Forest Supervisor, acknowledging <br />Mr. R. V. Ellingsen's appointment as Fire Warden and stating that they will make the <br />necessary arrangements for his State certification ; .a copy of "Sewage and Waste Control <br />Rules and Regulations for the Metropolitan Disposal System" from the Metro Sewer <br />Board; a copy of the financial Statement of Anoka County for 1970; a check in the <br />amount of $11,835.27 for personal property and homestead tax credits. <br />The Clerk had received a note from Norman E. Schmidt, Postmaster at Circle Pines, <br />asking that tree branches hanging over mailboxes be removed at 7064, 7071,7072, and <br />7080 Sunset Avenue. After discussion, Mr. Rosengren stated that he would have this , <br />doe. <br />Marvin Rehbein had sent a letter requesting the withdrawal of their bid bond on the <br />Sanitary Sewer and Watermain project since thebbulk of the work would now be done <br />after September let when new wage rates would be in effect and since they have acquired <br />other work. Mr. Locher stated that they could demand this since we have gone beyond <br />the 60 days. He recommended that we discuss this with Mr. Gotwald and accept another <br />bidder or advertise again. Mr. Cardinal moved to accept the letter and return the <br />bid bond to Marvin Rehbein. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />A letter received from Robert Burman stated in part, "As soon as we are sure the <br />legislature does not create a metro park system, I will meet.with.you and discuss any <br />and all problems,that you are concerned with relating to this park. relating to <br />Centerville Park.. Mr. Jaworski stated that we should write to the Co", mmissioners to <br />the effect that one of the reasons we are being pushed by the Metro Council is the <br />failure of the County to proceed with a park system. He noted that the road on the, <br />south side of Centerville Lake has been on the agenda for 3 years with no progress. <br />After discussion it was decided that the Clerk would write to Mr. Burman again asking <br />for completion of the road es well as the previously requested improvements to the park. <br />Another letter had been received from Mr. Burman regarding the county throughfare plan <br />and requesting a list of our top priorities in County roads. Crystal Ahlmen suggested <br />that an access to the south on 135E be made from I35W at their juncture. .It was noted <br />that this was not a County project. Denny Houle suggested that they construct 80th <br />Street all the way•through to Main Street which would give access to both freeways; <br />the bridge over 135E is already there. Mr. Houle noted that there are no East -West <br />roads in this park of the Metro area. After discussion, Mr. Jaworski asked Mr. <br />Rosengren to get together with Mr. Gotwald to. decide on the priorities and report at <br />the next meeting when the matter will be on the agenda. It was noted that some <br />trading on roads may hove to be done; also that this should be discussed with the <br />County at the meeting on No. 54. <br />A letter was received from E. J. Lundheim, County Engineer, stating that the read <br />straightening project on Birch Street was completed, and that the ole road alignment <br />reverts to the control and authority of Lino Lakes. He suggested that we request <br />the Anoka County Highway Dept. to do the necessary snow plowing and ordinary maintenance <br />for which we would be billed'annually commencing on September let, nett. Mr. Rosengren <br />felt that the curve banking should be filled some for ease,in maintenance; the fellows <br />
