62 <br />8/9/71 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Village Council held on August 9, 1971, <br />was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Mayor, Ralph L'Allier. All Council members <br />were present. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve the minutes of the July 26, 1971, meeting as <br />written. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jaworski noted that the minutes of the July 29, 1971, special meeting did <br />not included the fact that the Mayor did vote on all issues. It. was advised <br />that this be changed. <br />The Clerk reported receipt of affidavit of publication for resolution on im- <br />provement in Lakes Addition No. 2. <br />The Clerk asked if the Council wished to continue membership in the League of <br />Minnesota Municipalities at $380.00 per year. Mr. L'Allier indicated we should <br />continue membership. It keeps them up to date and is a good bargaining tool. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved they continue membership. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried <br />unanimously. <br />A telegram sent to the Circle Pines Utilities Commission was read. It ex- <br />plained why the Council members were unable to attend the 'Utilities Commission <br />Meeting of July 28; 1971. Mr. L'Allier moved that letters of invitation be <br />sent to representatives of both the Circle Pines Utilities Commission and the <br />North Central Gas Co., to meet with them at the Lino'Lakes Village Hall at <br />8 P.M., August 16, 1971. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal had no report. <br />Mr. Jaworski had no report. <br />Mr. Rosengren•reported work on roads is progressing: There are still a couple <br />culverts needing repair. He wondered if we have to have bids on $1500 worth of <br />gravel. Attorney Locher indicated that from $500 to $5,000 two written bids <br />are needed. <br />Mr. Rosengren wondered if it is necessary to check with owners in order to cut <br />down overhanging branches around mail boxes. • Mr. Rosengren hadn't 'heard from <br />anyone in regard to this yet. Mr. L'Allier suggested they send these people <br />a copy of the letter or else call the people involved and tell them they are <br />in violation. <br />Engineer, Mr. Gotwald, showed a map of the overall county thoroughfare-plan. <br />He had outlined some county roads we could trade for village. He indicated <br />if there are two communities maintaining them it is very difficult. • There is <br />good relations between Washington County and our own community, however. It <br />was suggested that 5 -6 mile stretch of Bald Eagle, a village road, should be <br />swapped for Birch, .Elm 'and Lilac. • <br />If boundary roads are county it works out best. This eastern boundaru street <br />has been a problem, Mr. Rosengren and Mr.'Gotwald noted.• The village h as done <br />a lot on all these roads - they have been kept up well. Mr. Cardinal moved <br />that we should drop a note to the Administrator:(with carbon copy to Bob Burman)• <br />twlling them we would like to arrange this, and ask to set up a meeting. <br />Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen.
