Mr. <br />Jaworski felt that some of the men were around every morning, at least in the <br />summer, and could put it up. Mr. Marier moved to purchase a 24 -hour per day <br />flag for the cost of $45. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to fly the flag for 24 hours per day. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Motion carried with Mr. Jaworski and Mrs. Swanson voting No. <br />Mr. Bohjanen mentioned that he had been at a Centerville meeting and that a <br />question of a street light at 20th and Main was discussed. Centerville will <br />not go half on the cost, claiming that there were plenty of lights there. Also, <br />the power company will not put up the light at our request when the location is <br />in Centerville. Mr. Marier thought some negotiation might be made as there is <br />a light down from there about 3 spans at the Rehbein building; this might be <br />moved north somewhat. Mr. Jaworski stated that Lino is paying for a street <br />light on the Circle Pines side of North Road and Sunset. There was discussion. <br />Mr. Bohjanen stated that he had forgotten to mention the terms for the Park <br />Board members at the last meeting. Mr. Cardinal moved to set the terms for the <br />Park Board members as follows: Ardell Johnson - -3 years, Francis Faymoville -- <br />3 years, Don Kent - -2 years, Harold Lehman - -2 years, Richard Carlson - -1 year. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Carried unanimously. <br />There was some discussion on the State's letter regarding certification of the <br />local assessor if the Village decided to keep her. Mr. Locher noted that Mrs. <br />Sarner has been our Assessor for more than 5 years; however it will necessary <br />for her to be certified by the. State Board of Examiners. Mr. Marier moved to <br />send in Resolution #3 certifying that Lino Lakes wishes to continue the office <br />of local assessor and to assume the costs of training the assessor in courses <br />approved by the State Assessor's Board for the purpose of obtaining the assess- <br />or's certificate to the extent of course fees and recognized travel expenses <br />not paid by the State. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to sign this resolution and send it in. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski. Carried unanimously. Al Dupre stated that he was fold at the work- <br />shop that since he had been a building inspector before May 1971, that he would <br />be certified immediately withott examination. <br />Mr. Bohjanen brought up the matter of the fire contracts. He noted that the <br />line between the two areas had not changed much, nor had the valuation. He <br />mentioned that Lexington feels that we are getting by cheap and that the cost <br />will be more next year. It is possible that in the futre the Lexington con- <br />tract will be for a longer period than 1 year, and that the valuation figure <br />will be left open to handle the yearly change. Mrs. Swanson was concerned <br />that the wording in the contracts left us vulnerable if there was a fire in <br />the town giving service to us. She was informed that the mutual aid contracts <br />would give us protection from other municipalities in such an event. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to accept the Lexington Fire contract for 1972 in the amount <br />of $4,632.15, half to be paid on or before February 1st and August 1st. Sec- <br />onded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to accept the Centerville Fire contract in the amount of <br />$3000 for 1972, half to be paid on or before February 1st and July 1st. Second- <br />ed by Mr. Marier. Carried unanimously. <br />In connection with the 1971 policing contract for Centerville, Mr. Bohjanen <br />stated that there had been some mention of aigure on purchasing their police <br />car; it was agreed that this figure was $1000 minus the cost oa any repairs we <br />
