Vote -- Jaworski -- Aye; Marier - -No; Swanson - -No; Bohjanen- -
Aye. Motion was la t. Mrs. Swanson noted that she couldn't vote for something
she didn't understand; she wanted to see the amendment in writing. Mr. Jaworski
moved that Mr. Myhre be instructed to go to the Oasis and pull their license.
Mr. Locher stated we would be in for a law suit if we did so; Mr. Jaworski
said it would be the same if we don't issue this one. Mr. Locher stated it
has been interpreted that a liquor license may be denied for any reason or no
reason. Mrs. Swanson stated that she didn't want to be rushed into something
if she was not ready for it. Mr. Marier moved to have the Attorney make cop-
ies of the proposed amendment and send them to the Clerk, and to have it put
on the next agenda. Seconded by Mrs. Swanson. Carried unanimously. Mr.
Rosengren's license will be on the agenda also.
Next was a request from Northwestern Bell to place buried cable near the Shen-
andoah plat. Mr. Gotwald stated that we approve these in several villages, if
there are conflicts, we instruct the Clerk write to have it relocated, and
they will do this. In this case we can approve this; it is on a County Road
and they must approve it also. Mr. Gotwald thought this pit may conflict with
the sewer line. Mrs. Swanson asked if the buried line doesn't come later; Mr.
Gotwald stated in many cases this comes first; they can hang the lines until
the sewer is done. This one is close to the sewer line; he felt we should
tell Bell that it will be in the way. Mr. Marier stated that the pit is only
a pedestal and would be no problem. Mr. Gotwald recommended we go ahead and
allow this. The Clerk was instructed to send a letter stating that there will
be future utilities in the same area.
There was discussion on the sign permit renewals requested by Brede. After discussion, Mr. Marier moved to release $3107.36 of
the bond on the approval of. the Building Inspector who is to notify the Clerk.
Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Mr. Marier stated that at the last meeting the Forest Lake
Hospital building proposal came up. This could be financed by either revenue
bonds incurred by the hospital or by general bonds back to the taxpaper. He
stated that we had spent money in 2 elections telling them no. Mr. Marier
moved to inform our Board member on the Forest Lake Hospital Board to vote
for revenue bonds rather than bring it back for another vote. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski.
