212
3/27/72
she should report on this on her time or on his report. Mr. Bohjanen advised
her to use her own time. Mr. Cardinal said that was all he had. Mr. Bohjanen
requested of Mr. Cardinal to see if he couldn't come up with some other areas
for parks and give us a report on tying them in with the planning system of
the Village.
Mr. Jaworski had checked on the grader from the County -they don't have a
grader available in the summer, only in the minter. Mr. Bohjanen said he had
talked with some people on Pine Street who said that the Columbus Board is
ready to sit down and talk about cost and paying half and half on it. Mr.
Jaworski said that we would do the part from Hwy 8 to 4th Avenue and they would
do it from 4th to Robinsons and rebuild that part. Mr. Jaworski thought we
should find out what our cost would be to oil from 4th to Hwy 8. Mr. Bohjanen
said he would like to go to the meeting also.
Mr. Jaworski said that he will have a report on those drills next time; he
had talked to the mechanics and they felt they needed both drills since they
are different on speeds. Mr. Marier commented that you can get drills with
variable speeds.
Mr. Jaworski stated that the condition of the roads was not too good. Mr.
Marier asked if we have ever taken a study of the cost of maintaining the roads.
Mr. Jaworski didn't think we ever had which is why we want to go into a card
file on grading, maintenance, etc. Mr. Marier suggested making up a service
program on maintenance including the hours spent on each road as well as the
material.
Mr. Marier asked about the County hours. Mr. Jaworski said he will talk to
Roy on the men and how to use them.
Mr. Bohjanen suggested that the mechanics keep the shop in neater form; they
never close a can. Mrs. Swanson asked about using barrels; Mr. Jaworski said
the shop had stolen all the ones he had in the parks to put up here.
Mrs. Swanson had a question on her mind on personnel taking equipment off our
property and leaving here in our property. Mr. Jaworski assumed that she was
talking about Roy again, and said it is better to let him take the pickup home.
Mr. Cardinal agreed. Mr. Jaworski said that if the Council wants him to leave
it here, he can. Mr. Bohjanen felt it should be left here. Mrs. Swanson
stated that we are paying for up -keep, gasoline, maintenance, etc. She asked
Mr. Jaworski how come it was brought up before and he was leaving it for this
Council. Mr. Jaworski stated that when Roy has an emergency it is handy to have
a vehicle, for the reason that he has to come in anyway and punch the clock.
Mrs. Swanson moved that Roy is to leave the pickup here, that Mr. Backlin
refrain from taking Village property off the premises at night, referring spec-
ifically to the Ford maintenance pick-up when not in use for regular Village
purposes. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Marier stated that we are having a special r &7 meting to review size of
dwellings, all building sizes, multiple, singlg, etc. We still have to work
with the comprehensive plan as the designation is poor so we have to re- desig-
nate. We can go through this within the next 2 months and change some of the
coloring since you can't see the numbers.
Mr. Marier reported that he had attended the Metro sewer Board meeting on
Friday, as well as the Attorney, Mr. Locher, Don Carley, Mr. Strand, Mrs. Swanson
and Mayor B b n n. We had stated ttlat the bills which we received in 1971
was nol 4;ustified. Whereas the previous Village Council had asked for a defer-
