6/12/72 <br />The requisitions were gone over. Mr. Marier suggested purchase of a stamp for <br />approving requisitions and then they could just initial them. He also noted that <br />there are four checks as of June 12th where no purchase orders were requested. <br />There was question as to why the wide difference in advertisement charges. Mr. <br />Cardinal pointed out that whenadvertising for Deputy Clerk the different papers <br />ranged from as low as $6.00 to as high as $15.88 for the same ad. Mr. Rasmussen <br />from the Forest Lake paper noted that for one thing, it is advertising space, and <br />it would be a different rate than a legal ad and dependent on the amount of <br />circulation. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to pay all bills #4516 through #4546. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. <br />Carried with Mr. Marier voting No. <br />Mr. Marier moved to accept the requisitions, holding out No. 77 until we find what <br />we have spent for tools. SEconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. <br />Mr. Marier moved to adjourn at 11:30 P. M. Seconded by Mr. Cardin <br />Aye. <br />Minutes approved at the meeting of June 26, 197 <br />Clerk—Treasurer <br />285 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Village Council held on June 26, 1972, was <br />called to order at 8 PM by Mayor Bohjanen. Trustees present were :Jaworski, Marier, <br />and Zelinka; absent: Cardinal. Also present were Attorney Locher and Clerk— Treasurer <br />Mrs. Emerton. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the minutes of the special June 6th meeting as written. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried with Mr. Zelinka abstaining. <br />The minutes of the regular June 12th meeting were corrected as follows: <br />I. Page 3, paragraph 4, line 1, after "check on ", change sentence to read, <br />"what part areas are in ". <br />2. Page 3, paragraph 9, change 4th sentence to read, "If there is any <br />surplus material it will be dumped on 2nd street ". <br />3. Page 4, paragraph 5, first line, "done" spelled incorrectly. <br />4. Page 6, paragraph 9, strike paragraph up to last sentence and insert <br />the following : "Mr. Bohjanen read the test of a letter he had written <br />to the Attorney, as follows: <br />'Please explain Appointment Process on Page 53, At the last council <br />meeting the council was accused of not using the correct procedure <br />when hiring police officers because we have -not gone to the State Civil <br />Service Commission for the help which they offer. <br />I feel the council has acted correctly when they have acted on the <br />recommendations of one of its committees, the Personnel Commission and <br />even if they did not have such a commission they would be authorized to <br />appoint a police officer without going through the Civil ServJce <br />Commission. Appointments were made on the basis of written and oral <br />examinations. <br />Is this not correct? Is not the help from the Civil Service Commission <br />optional? <br />5. Page 8, paragraph 9, last line, add at end "and dependent onthe amount <br />of circulation ". <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the minutes of the June 12th meeting as corrected. <br />Seconded by Mr. Zelinka.
