May 24, 1976 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 8:05 P. M. <br />May 14, 1976 by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present; Karth, McLean, Schneider. <br />Absent: Zelinka. Mr. Locher was also present. <br />Chief Myhre corrected the minutes of May 10, 1976 on page 7, last paragraph; delete the <br />entire paragraph and insert "Chief Myhre pointed out a motion in the March 23, 1976 min- <br />utes that stated the word 'employee' would not be used in conjunction with the clothing <br />allowance." <br />Mr. McLean moved to approve the minutes as corrected. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk reported on the following items: <br />..Read a letter from the Environmental Quality Council in reference to the Minnesota <br />Metropolitan Training Center and the project planned for that facility. This is in <br />regards to the discharge of sewage and the need for acceptable arrangements that meet <br />the standards set by that organization. <br />..Municipal fines received in May for the month of April were $227.00. <br />..Made note of the special meeting scheduled by the Planning and Zoning Board for May 26, <br />1976 at 7:30 P.M. to discuss the matter of the interceptor with Lee Starr and Mr. James <br />Barton. Al11 Planning and Zoning members, Council members, the Attorney, Engineer and <br />the Planning Consultant have been notified. Mr. Locher said he has a previously sch- <br />eduled meeting and cannot attend. The Clerk was instructed to contact Mr. Gotwald <br />and Mr. Short and ask that they be here. <br />..Read a letter from Senator John Milton addressed to Mr. Peter Vanderpoel, Chairman <br />of the Environmental Quality Council involved with the selection of the route for <br />the 500KV power line. Senator Milton urges the Council to select the easternmost route <br />and stated the many reasons on which he based his polition. <br />..Read a letter from the Minnesota Pollution Agency announcing a workshop for noise <br />enforcement. Chief Myhre was questioned on the need for someone to attend and he did <br />not feel it was necessary. <br />..Read a letter of resignation from Mr. Bruce Houle, member of the Planning and Zoning <br />Board. Mr. McLean moved to accept Mr. Houle's resignation and a letter of 'Thanks' <br />be sent to Mr. Houle. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor <br />Bohjanen requested that a name for consideration be submitted at the next Council meet- <br />ing <br />..A request for a 3.2 beer permit for June 5 & 6 by the Northwest Saddle Club had been <br />received. A copy of the insurance had been sent but this does not state the coverage. <br />After some discussion the following stipulations were set forth - this permit is only <br />for 3.2 beer, can only be sold on the premises of the Saddle Club, cannot be sold bet- <br />ween 1:00 A. M. Sunday morning and 12:00 Noon on Sunday, and the limits of insurance <br />policy carried by the Club. Mr. Karth moved to grant the special permit subject to <br />the above rules and an agreement in writing. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried <br />unanimously. Mr. McLean questioned the premise insurance. Mr. McLean moved to include <br />this in the above motion. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />..The City has received an invitation to attend the 62nd annual conference of the League <br />of Minnesota Municipalities in Duluth, June 9 - 11. There is also a special 15 month <br />membership fee which computes out to about $668.00. The Council deferred action on <br />this at this time. <br />
