85
May 24, 1976
....The City has a burning permit from the PCA but has been told not to burn until the
III ban is lifted.
..Received affidavits of Publication of Ordinance No. 65 from the Circulating Pines and
Spring Lake Park Life. Also affidavit of Publication for the Board of Review from the
Circulating Pines.
..Sewage Hauling charges for the month of April in the amount of $1311.00 has been re-
ceived.
Mr. Lee Parr, from the Anoka County Community Action Program had requested to be on the
agenda. Mr. Parr told the Council his organization is in the process of winterizing homes
for the low income families and senior citizens. He explained what would be done and said
this is at no cost to the home owner. He presented the Council with some materials on
thisprogram. A family of four with an income of $6500.00 to $6800.00 could qualify for
this assistance. Mr. Parr said even if they did not qualify, his organization would be
glad to give the residents advice on how to winterize their homes. Part of the qualif-
ication is the people must own their homes or be in the process of purchasing, must
live in Anoka County and must live in the home. He felt the Council would have a better
idea of the people who would qualify than his office. He asked the Council to contact
these persons and give them the phone number.
Mr. Schneider asked if the City has the facilities for this type of operation? Mayor
Bohjanen said there is a Senior Citizen meeting held once a month. He will see the in-
formation is available for them. He thanked Mr. Parr for his time and information.
IIIMr. Stephen Sprint presented the Council with a petition for sewers for the residents of
LaMotte Drive. The residents are asking to be serviced through the Centerville lines.
Mayor Bohjanen said a joint meeting with the Centerville Council would be the first step.
He instructed the Clerk to contact the Centerville Clerk and set this meeting as soon
as possible. The CLerk is to also send copies of the petition to Mr. Gotwald and Mr.
Ray Payne. Mayor Bohjanen said the people will be notified of any meeting they should
attend.
Mr. Schneider reported on the Park Board meeting. He had been out of town but Mr. Mc
Lean had filled in for him. There had not been a quorum so there had just been general
discussion. The backstop at the new field at Sunrise is not up as yet. Mr. Schneider
will be checking with the gentleman who had planned to do this work. Mr. Schneider had
no report on the cash flow.
Mr. McLean reported on the Planning and Zoning Board meeting held on May 19, 1976. Mr.
Larry Brokke has appeared requesting a special use permit for the use of a private drive-
way for access to commercial property he own in Centerville. He uses this property for
the parking of large trucks used in his business. He is asking for this special use
permit until December 31, 1976. He plans to construct a building to house his equip-
ment and office on the End in Centerville. The Planning and Zoning Board had recommended
approval of this permit. Since Mr. Nadeau owns property abutting this land and had
abstained from voting on the special use permit, Mr. McLean asked Mr. Nadeau if he had
any comments he would like to make.
IIIMr. Nadeau said he is not in favor of this permit - he felt Mr. Brokke has all intentions
of using the property in Lino Lakes as commercial property and using this as a place of
business.
Mr. Mobley, Building Inspector, stated that he had checked the sign (there was a question
on the size) and stated that it is not an illegal sign. Mr. Mobley had asked Mr. Brokke
