1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />September 27, 1976 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 8:05 P.M. <br />by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present; Karth, McLean, Schneider. Absent; <br />Zelinka. Mr. Locher had called to say he would be late. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes of August 16, and August 23, 1976 as present- <br />ed. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Motion carried unanimously, with Mayor Bohjanen ab- <br />staining. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes of September 13, 1976 as presented. Seconded <br />by Mr. Schneider. Motion carried unanimously with Mr. McLean abstaining. <br />Mr. Zelinka arrived. <br />The Clerk presented the following items: <br />..Municipal fines in the amount of $342.50 had been received: <br />..August hauling charges in the amount of $1,121.00 had been recieved: <br />..3rd quarter State Aid in the amount of $20,703.59 had been received; <br />..A letter from the City of Shakopee presenting tftt City's position in relationship <br />to the actions of the Metropolitan Council. All Council members have a copy of the <br />Resolution. <br />Mayor Bohjanen requested this Council pass a Resolution supporting the position of <br />the City of Shakopee and that copies of this Resolution be mailed to Representative <br />Neisen and Senator Milton. Mr. Zelinka so moved. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Chief Myhre had received a letter of resignation from Mr. Paul Ewald. This resignat- <br />ion was necessary since Mr. Ewald has taken a position as a Deputy Sheriff in Pine <br />County. That Department had asked that he not continue as a part -time patrolman in <br />Lino Lakes in order to avoid a conflict in work schedules. <br />Mr. Zelinka reported this had been discussed at the Personnel Commission meeting <br />held on September 24, 1976. Chief Myhre had recommended that Mr. Richard Wilbur, a <br />former patrolman, be rehired to replace Mr. Ewald. <br />Mr. Zelinka also reported that Mr. Ewald had handled his assignments in a very pro- <br />fessional manner and moved to accept his resignation with regret and commend him for <br />his very efficient work. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to re- employ Mr. Richard Wilbur, providing the budget for the Police <br />Department will absorb another man. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Charles Cape presented a report on the actions of the Lino Lakes Civil Defense <br />Unit in conjunction with a Centerville fire drill at the Centerville School. He <br />presented pictures showing the actions of the unit. <br />Mr. Cape suggested using a portion of the Civil Defense funds for the purchase of <br />radios for the Road Department. He will work out a budget and present it to the <br />Council for consideration. <br />The Clerk reported on a permit application received for the use of a well on the <br />Cyril LaCasse farm for irrigation purposes. He would be pumping 25.2 million gallons <br />of water. <br />
