Mr. McLean suggested that a petition submitted from the resid-
ents in that area would be the way to handle this situation. The Clerk was instr-
ucted to write to Mrs. Goldbeck with this suggestion.
1
Mr. Locher suggested patrolling by a Sportsman's Club such as is done by the snow-
mobile clubs. This has been most effective. There was a question as to the exist-
ence of such an organisation in this area.
..Read a letter from Mr. John Boland asking for a contact person in connection
with the 'systems statements' that will be out sometime around mid - November.
Mayor Bohjanen asked Mr. McLean if he would serve in that capacity and Mr. McLean
agreed. The Clerk was instructed to contact the Metropolitan Council with the
information.
..A check for State Aid for Police Departments in the amount of $2,908.34 had
been received.
..A letter from the State Planning Agency on the matter of making precinct changes
was read. If there is to be a precinct change in this City, it must be done before
January 1, 1977. At that time the precinct boundaries are frozen for a period of
five years, until after January 1, 1982. This is in conjunction with the 1980
Federal Census. The Council discussed this matter but no decision was reached.
..Read a letter from the City of Lexington approving the payment of the Fire Con-
tract in July and December.
..Noted that a letter from the State Fire Marshalls office setting forth the re-
quirements for the installation of two (2) underground starage tanks of 10,000
gallons each for use by the L & B Tree Service in Centerville.
..A statement from the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission setting the 1977 cost
allocation payments for 1977 at $215.77 per month. This is about a $10.00 per
month increase from 1976.
