1 <br />i <br />1 <br />November 8, 1976 <br />Mayor Bohjanen said he had been contacted by the Pilot's Association with a request <br />to use the City Council Chambers on the 1st Thursday of the month for the next <br />three months, to have their meetings in conjunction with the attempt to get some <br />dredging approved for Rice, Marshan, and George Watch Lakes. Mr. McLean so moved. <br />Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Karth was absent - no report from the Road Department. Mr. McLean had not <br />report from the Planning and Zoning Board. <br />Mr. Schneider said he had neglected to present a proposal from the Park Board <br />for the surveying and grading of a skating rink at the Hall Park. The estimated <br />costs for the surveying is $75.00 and the grading $145.00. After some discuss- <br />ion, Mr. Schneider moved to approve this expenditure. Seconded by Mr. McLean. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. McLean asked if there had been any news on the condition of Mr. Mobley and <br />the Clerk said she only knew that he was in the hospital. Mr. McLean suggested <br />contacting Mr. Henry Amundson to fill in, if necessary. Mr. McLean moved to auth- <br />orize the Clerk to check this out. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unan- <br />imously. <br />Mr. Schneider had talked with Mr. Hanson on the possibility of the Boy Scouts <br />doing a preliminary census and the project is still in the planning. He will <br />have more information at a later date. <br />Mr. Schneider said the cash flow is down $2,000.00 from the projection due to in- <br />surance premiums not paid. An application for the errors and ommission coverage <br />had been received. Mr. McLean asked if this coverage could be extended to cover <br />appointed boards and employees? This will be check out. <br />Mr. Schneider said there is $1,000.00 in the 1976 budget for land acquisition, <br />is this for a specific purpose? Mr. McLean said this was done for the purpose <br />of accumulating a fund for the future land acquisition for parks or municipal pur- <br />poses. <br />Mr. Schneider said a new procedure for paying bills will be tried if the Council <br />has not objections. Bills will be paid only once a month and at the first meet- <br />ing since this is the meeting with the fewer reports to consider. <br />Mr. Schneider said one of the residents of Shenandoah had called about the sodding <br />of the boulevards now that the street are in. Mr. Gotwald said this is the re- <br />sponsibility of the developer. <br />Mr. Gotwald said not all the streets are completed but he expects that Mr. Rehbein <br />will ask the City to accept the ones that are completed for winter maintenance. <br />The sodding of the boulevards can be made a part of that acceptance. <br />Mr. Arntzen asked who is responsible for the driveway across the boulevard and <br />Mr. Gotwald said the home owner. <br />Mr. Zelinka reported on the meeting of the Personnel Commission. A meeting was <br />held on November 4, 1976 and another scheduled for November 11, 1976. <br />One of the areas discussed was the matter of overtime for the men in the shop and <br />road departments. The Personnel Commission had recommended that overtime be paid <br />for any time over 48 hours. Mr. Zelinka so moved, with instructions to Mr. Volk <br />1 <br />
