However, the $10.00 per month salary in-
rease for the Police Clerk had remained the City's offer.
Mr. Peter Scherer was in the audience and asked if the City had changed their policy
on the dischage of firearms within the City limits and Mr. Locher said, No.
Mr. Scherer said a deer had been shot on his property and only wounded. The Police
Officer called had advised the hunter to go home and get more slugs and kill the deer.
This was told to Mr. Scherer by his wife. He also said the sign on County Road J and
84 is gone and should be replaced.
Mr. McLean said the signs are misleading in the way they are worded and all should be
replaced.
Mr. Scherer said he is in the process of circulating a petition to ban hunting in that
area. He felt the area is too populated to allow any shooting at all.
Mayor Bohjanen said he will contact the Police Department and talk, to Chief Myhre about
this.
Mr. Schneider said he would have to hear the other side before he made any comment.
Mr. Scherer asked if the Council would act on a petition if it is presented with suff-
icient signatures? Mr. Karth said if a citizen brings in such a petition the Council
must act on it.
Mayor Bohjanen reminded the members of the public hearing on the Lakeview area petition III
continued to December 2, 1976. He felt that some extra chairs could be borrowed from
the VFW. He will contact them.
Mr. Schneider felt the idea of getting water from Circle Pines should be explored and
said he planned to attend a meeting in Circle Pines.
Mayor Bohjanen felt this is another subject and he disagreed, but would not oppose
Mr. Schneider.
Mr. McLean moved to approve requisitions #717, & 719, holding #718.
