188 <br />December 13, 1976 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 8:05 P.M., <br />December 13, 1976 by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present; Karth, McLean, Schneider, <br />Zelinka. Absent; None. Mr. Locher and Mr. Gotwald were also present. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes of November 22, 1976 as presented. Seconded <br />by Mr. McLean. Motion carried with Mr. Zelinka abstaining. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes of November 16, 1976 as presented. Seconded <br />by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried with Mr. McLean abstaining. <br />Mr. Karth corrected the minutes of December 2, 1976 as follows; <br />page 2, paragraph 7, change the word 'City' -to 'Utility Commission', in two places. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes with the corrections. Seconsed by Mr. Mc <br />Lean. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration; <br />..The Fire Contract with the City of Lexington should be approved at this meeting. <br />A copy of the anticipated costs for the year 1977 had been made for each Council mem- <br />ber. There was discussion on the cost factors. Mr. McLean moved to approve the Fire <br />Contract with the City of Lexington for $14,957.00 for the year of 1977, payments to <br />be made in July and December. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to approve the Fire Contract with the City of Centerville for $5,780.72 <br />for the year 1977, payments to be made quarterly beginning in March 1977. Seconded <br />by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Chief Myhre had prepared cost figures for the Police Contract with the City of Cent- <br />erville. The Contract for this coverage had been typed and the cost figures inserted. <br />Mr. McLean asked if these figures had been presented to Centerville for consideration. <br />The Clerk said she did not know. The Council held consideration of this contract until <br />later to give Chief Myhre time to present the figures to Centerville. <br />..Mr. Beach, Tree Inspector, had prepared a report for the 1976 work done and his 1977 <br />proposal for control of diseased trees. After some discussion, Mr. McLean moved to <br />accept the report as presented by the Tree Inspector. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />..A letter from the City of Fridley asking for certain information was read. Mr. Mc- <br />Lean felt the information being asked for is the same as the Metro Council is asking <br />for and the Planning and Zoning Board is in the process of preparing. It was decided <br />that a copy of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan is all this City has at this time that <br />could be of any use to them. The Clerk was instructed to mail a copy of the Comprehen- <br />sive Land Use Plan and tell them any other information needed could be obtained from <br />the Metro Council. <br />..A contract from M.A.P.S.I. had been received in the Clerk's office. It was decided <br />to put this on the December 27, 1976 agenda. <br />..The Clerk asked if the City offices would be closed on Friday, December 24, 1976 <br />or Monday, December 27, 1976. Mr. Zelinka felt the usual practice is if the Holiday <br />falls on a Saturday, the day before is given as a day off, if the Holliday falls on a <br />Sunday, the day after is given off. Mr. Zelinka moved to close the City offices on <br />December 24, and December 31, 1976. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimousfy. <br />Mayor Bohjanen said he had been contacted by several persons askfimg this Council's <br />
