Mayor Bohjanen asked that the matter of the Centerville Police Contract be
tabled until the January 24, 1977 meeting. Mr. Karth so moved. Seconded by
Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
After some discussion, Mr. Zelinka moved to apply for the Errors and Ommission
Insurance on an annual basis. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Karth had no road report.
Mr. McLean reported on the approval of a time extension granted by the Metrop-
olitan Council in conjunction with the work being done by the Planning and
Zoning Board.
Mr. McLean also reported on the meeting on December 28, 1976. Mr. McLean,
Mr. Locher, Mr. Gotwald, Mr. Short and Mr. Gourley had met and gone through
the proposal for submission to the Planning and Zoning Board at the scheduled
meeting on January 19, 1977. This rough draft will then be presented to the
Council for preliminary review before being sent to the Metropolitan Council
for preliminary review. It will be before the City Council for final approval
after any suggested changes have been incorporated.
Mr. Karth asked for the use of the City Hall on January 26, 1977 by the Lino
Athletic Assoc. for a meeting. Since this is a free evening, Mr. Karth moved
to approve the request. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr.- McLean said a meeting to review the work done on the Chain of Lakes Park
has been scheduled for January 26, 1977 at the Activity Center in Bunker Park.
Mr. Torkildson will be sending invitations to all Council members, Park Board
members and Planning and Zoning Board members. This meeting is scheduled for
8:00 P.M.
Mr. Zelinka said there had not been a Personnel Commission meeting but he will
be scheduling one probably before the next Council meeting. He has received
four other proposals for employee insurance and will be presenting this to the
Commission for a recommendation to the Council.
The Clerk reported on the following items for Council consideration:
..Read a letter from Governor Rudy Perpich acknowledging the letter recommending
the re- appointment of Mrs. Opal Peterson to the Metropolitan Council;
..Read a letter from the Anoka Soil & Water Conservation District announcing
they will be doing an inventory of the natural resources in the County. Mr.
McLean felt this has already been done by the City, the Metro Council, the
DNR, the Rice Creek Watershed Board and possibly several other agencies. He
felt this is overlaying work already done and someone should let them know
how the communities feel about the waste of time and money. The Clerk was
instructed to answer this letter in that line of thought.
..Reported the Tax Equivalency payment from the Metropolitan Council for the
land acquired for the Chain of Lakes Open Space had been received in the amount
of $3,012.73.
..Reported an informational letter from the Federal Revenue Sharing office had
been received. There are some changes in the regulations. A planned use
report is no longer required and the checks are mailed directly to the bank.
..All Council members have a copy of the actual use report for the last pay-
