204
January 24, 1977
Patrol on those freeways.
Mr. McLean felt the City should be separated from prosecuting those cases entirely.
Mr. Zelinka said the City may be asked to present evidence at some of the hearings.
If any of the Council members have any comments, please contact him and he will pass
this along to Representative Nelsen. Mr. McLean said his only comment would be poitive.
Mr. Zelinka moved to write a letter Of strong support to Representative Neisen and
ask if there is any further assistance this Council can give him. Seconded by Mr.
McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. McLean asked if the bill being sponsored by the League would get away from the
City having to carry the civil matter from private citizens? Mr. Locher felt that
it would.
Mr. Locher reminded the Council, if this bill is passed, and the County Attorney ass-
umes the responsibility for these cases, the cost will be spread over the entire Coun-
ty - all the people will pay.
Mr. Locher reported he had received a call from the mediator asking for a meeting
on January 25, 1977, but the Union Representatives had been unable to meet until after
February 6, 1977. Mr. Locher will notify the Council of the date as soon as he knows.
He said he was surprised there had not been an answer from the mediator before now.
Mr. Gotwald had checked the application for the ins +allation of a well for irrigation
purposes and he suggested a letter be written to
the State asking for their statement on the effect this well would have on the surr-
ounding private wells.
Mayor Bohjanen had received a letter from the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission
setting a meeting in Centerville for Thursday, January 27, 1977 to discuss the route
of the interceptor. Mr. Gotwald said the plans and specifications are not completed.
The original plan was to install the interceptor along Main Street but now the proposal
is to route the interceptor along Cedar Street. He felt the Southern route was better
for this City. If and when the City installs sewer lines, they would go along Main
Street and the installation would be easier if this interceptor is not there. He said
it would not effect this City since it is a force main and Lino Lakes cannot hook into
the system.
The information guides are ready for the printer except for Chairman of the Personnel
Commission. This will be available after the meeting on Thursday. Mr. McLean moved
to authorize the printing of these guides. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried
unanimously.
The Clerk asked for permission to transfer the designated amounts on the Federal Rev-
enue Sharing; $2,254.00 to Police Fund; $9,036.00 to Road Fund; and $2,254.00 to Park
Fund. Mr. Schneider so moved. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
There was some questions on the requisitions which were answered by Clhief Myhre. Mr.
McLean moved to approve requisitions #721 - 726 through and including #731. Second-
ed by W. Schneider. Motion carried unanimously.
On consulting the bills, Mr. Schneider questioned the bond covering the Clerk. This
check had been written to the James Ray Agency. Mr. Schneider moved to change this
bond to the Forest Lake Agency. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
