1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />March 31, 1977 <br />The continued meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 8:00 <br />P.M., March 31, 1977 by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present; Karth, Schneider. <br />Absent; McLean, Zelinka. Mr. Locher was also present. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes of March 14, 1977 as presented. Seconded by <br />Mr. Schneider. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bohjanen introduced Mr. Carlo Sooger of the Centennial School District. Mr. <br />Sooger presented the Council with a copy of the Centennial Summer Recreation program <br />outlining the activities offered and the participation by the children of Lino Lakes. <br />Mr. Sooger said he had been asked to present this to all the Communities and ask <br />for any assistance they could give. He is not asking for an answer this evening, <br />however, if this City can give this program any financial assistance, Mr. Sooger would <br />like to know as soon as possible, but would ask the money not be submitted until <br />after the 1st of July. <br />Mayor Bohjanen thanked Mr. Sooger for his presentation and said he would be contact- <br />ing him. <br />The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration: <br />..The early tax draw had been received in the amount of $31,939.56. of this amount <br />$23,267.19 is special assessments. There is $4,631.08 in penalty and interest <br />on these assessments. Mr. Anfinson had been contacted on the possibility of de- <br />positing this amount in the general fund. Mr. Anfinson had said this a gray area <br />and said it could be handled in that manner, however, if at the end of the year <br />the funds are available, it could be repaid to the Debt fund. <br />..The Lexington Fire Report for the month of March had been received showing the <br />activities of that department. This report is on file in the City offices. <br />..A letter from the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission announcing a study on the <br />combined sewer overflow and infilteration /inflow - MWCC Project 76 -55. That comm- <br />ission will be contacting the office for assistance in the study. <br />..Reminded the Council of the meeting scheduled for April 7, 1977 at 7:30 P.M. for <br />discussion of the restoration of the lakes by the use of a Mud Cat. <br />..The Rice Creek Watershed District sent a copy of their approval of the well app- <br />lication for Mr. Willard Rehbein. However, if problems develop with other user, <br />this permit will be reviewed immediately. <br />..The DFL had called to ask the use of the Hall on April 4, 1977 for a meeting. <br />Mr. Schneider moved to approve this request. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carr- <br />ied unanimously. There was a problem getting in the last time this group used <br />the Hall. Mr. Karth or Mayor Bohjanen will let them in, if the Police are not <br />here. <br />..The Clerk had called two Pet Clinics on the possibility of setting up a clinic <br />at the City Hall for persons to get shots for their dogs and license them at the <br />same time. After some discussion on this matter, the Council decided a date <br />will be set at the next Council meeting. <br />..Rep. James Oberstar had replied to the letter about the Metropolitan Council <br />and will contact the office as soon as he has further information. <br />
