248
May 9, 1977
is a 60" rotary mower that fits under the Lo -Boy tractors.
There was discussion on the use of the dedicated funds for this purpose. It was felt
these funds should be set aside for the acquisition of land - either for Parks or for
perhaps a fire station site. Mr. McLean said there should be $4,200.00 in this fund
at the present time; $2,200.00 from money in leiu of land and $2,000.00 that had been
in the budget.
The Clerk was instructed to research the minutes on the status of this money.
Mr. Schneider moved to use the money budgeted for a fence and apply to the purchase of
this mower. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously.
The proposed Ordinance on Acceleration of cars was read by Mr. Locher. There were
several questions on this Ordinance. The Ordinance now being enforced by the City of
Bloomington was discussed. Mr. Zelinka moved to table this Ordinance and obtain a copy
of the one from Bloomington. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Locher had checked the contract with C. W. Houle for the installation of the sewer
lines on LaMotte Road. The only discrepancy he could find was in the number of pages;
the contract says 4 and there were only 3. The bonds and insurance are all in order.
Mr. Gotwald suggested this contract not be signed until the financing has been arranged.
The number of years this assessment should run was discussed. Mr. Gotwald said the
usual is 15 to 20 years unless the resident involved decides to lessen the number of
years.
Mr. Locher said quotes cou(td be gotten from the banks in increments of five years.
Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize the Attorney to obtain two quotes from banks. Seconded
by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Gotwald will contact Mr. Houle requesting a time extension for the signing of the
contracts.
Mr. Locher reported Mr.Pierre Nadeau had called his office with complaints against Mr.
Brokke. He had asked Mr. Locher to call his (Mr. Nadeau's) Attorney with information
on this problem. Mr. Locher felt Mr. Nadeau's Attorney could get all the information
from the court transcript. Mr. Nadeau insists that Mr. Brokke is Operating a business
in a residential zone.
Mr. Zelinka suggested having the Police check this location and find out just what is
being done and report to the Council. Mr. Karth so moved. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Locher was instructed not to call until more information is available.
Mr. Gotwald told the Council that there could be some problems with the sale of some
of the hots in Country Lakes. In the process of re- platting parts of Lakes Add. #2
into Lakes Add. #3, the sewer and water lines run on private property and will have to
be dug up and re- located. He had called the company handling the sale of these lots
and pointed this problem out to them.
The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr. Ken Nelson of Drovers State Bank and ask him
to contact Mr. Gotwald in order to avoid this problem.
Mr. Kronholm had called Mr. McLean to talk about the Park lands in that development and
