He felt there must be some kind of shoulders to that street since the ditches are deep and wide and, he flet, dangerous. Mr. McLean suggested that perhaps the costs could be shared by Drovers State Bank and Anoka County - such as the surfacing to be done by the County and the shoulders be restored by the Bank. The material dealing with the correspondence with Mr. Boland and the in- ability to set a meeting was considered. It was decided that a letter should be written to the Governor stating the position of the City and enclosing the correspondence. Mr. Karth suggested this letter should be signed by each individual Council member. This letter is to state the City is just asking for some positive action. A copy is to be sent to Mr. Boland, Mr. Oberstar, Mr. Tom Daniels and Mrs. Opal Peterson. Mr. McLean moved to approve Checks #8012 through and including #8033, with #8026 being voided. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carreid unanimously. Mr. McLean moved to adjourn at 11:45 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Aye. These minutes mere approved at the July 11, 1977 meeting. Clerk- Treasurer. July 6, 1977 The special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 7:40 P.M., July 6, 1977 by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present; Schneider, Zelinka, Karth, McLean. Mr. Burman, County Commissioner was also present. Mayor Bohjanen said this special meeting was called to try to determine how West Shadow Lake Drive can be improved. He then turned the meeting over to Councilman Karth. Mr. Karth explained that there has already been a meeting with Mr. Kronholm Mr. Burman, Mr. Torkildson, Mr. McLean, Mr. Gotwald and others to discuss this matter. He wxplained that presently the road has a 24' surface that could be blacktopped and needs very little upgrading except shoulders would have to be constructed. Mr. Gotwald has estimated that if the surface is blacktopped as it is now the cost would be approximately $15,000.00, if the driving surface is extended to 32' and ditches filled in and shoulders provided the cost would be approximately $32,000.00. Mr. Torkildson of the Couty Park Department has stated that one possible soultion would be for the City to provide oil for the surface and the County provide all other improvements and labor. Mr. Kronholm, a resident on West Shadow Lake Drive explained about two weeks ago he had met with Mr. Burman to explore what could be done to improve the road and determine who the road belonged to. Mr. Kronholm explained the dust situation was extremely bad and the surface of the road was in a washboard condition doing damage to their vehicles. He felt the road was being used primarily by the golf course users. In one day 150 to 200 cars use this road to get to the course. 1 1
