August 8, 1977 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by <br />Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present: Karth, McLean, Schneider, Zelinka. Absent: <br />None. Mr. Locher was also present. <br />Mr. Karth moved to approve the minutes of July 25, 1977 as presented. Seconded by Mr. <br />Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. McLean asked the minutes of July 26, 1977 be held for clarification. <br />The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration: <br />..Notice of publication of the scheduled public hearing for Rohavic Oaks to be held <br />Monday }, September 12, 1977 at 8:45 P.M.; <br />..A letter from the Anoka County Fire Protection Council of which all members have a <br />copy; <br />..The East -West Street in Pine Haven designated as 126th Street N. E., is not consistent <br />with the alignment of the streets in Lino Lakes. This Street is more in line with 81st <br />Street. Since the Plat has been filed, the correction of the street can only be attached <br />to the plat. In discussing this matter, Mr. Locher said all street name changes must <br />be done by Ordinance. Mr. McLean moved to change 126th Street N. E. in the Plat of Pine <br />Haven to 81st Street West. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. <br />Schneider moved to authorize the Attorney to draw up the necessary ordinance. Seconded <br />by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. <br />..Mrs. Mary Sullivan, of the EQB, had dropped off a copy of her report to that Board at <br />their meeting scheduled for 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 1977. Each Council member <br />has a copy of the report. Mr. Locher, Mr. Gotwald and Mr. Short have been asked to att- <br />end. Mr. McLean moved to authorize this attendance. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carr- <br />ied unanimously. <br />..Mr. Mobley from the audience, said he had been asked to attend this meeting. Mr. McLean <br />moved to authorize the Building Inspector to also attend this hearing. Seconded by Mr. <br />Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />..The method of computing the population figure to be used in the determination of the <br />amount of State Aid to be received in 1978 had been received from the Department of Rev- <br />enue. They will add the 1970 census figure to the estimated figure from the Metropolitan <br />Council and divide by two. The population figure to be used is 3,981. <br />..A letter from MSP setting forth the rate increases.. There will be hearings held on <br />this matter and the rate can be either confirmed or reduced. There will be more at a <br />later date. <br />..The League of Minnesota Cities is holding a farewell reception for Mr. Dean A. Lund on <br />Wednesday, August 31, 1977 from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. at the Member's Lounge, St. Paul Arts <br />and Science Center at 10th and Cedar Streets in Saint Paul. All members are invited. <br />..The Clerk had called the County Highway Department on the Federal Aid Urban Boundary <br />projects and was told that Anoka County cannot qualify for these funds due to the lack <br />of traffic volume. <br />Mayor Bohjanen asked for Mr. Edmundson's questions. Mr. Edmundson was present to determine <br />what the City is asking for in the way of money in lieu of Park Lands in the Colonial Woods <br />project. <br />
