17 Mr. Bohjanen wished to find out just what projects the planner was doing and what meetings he was attending, and just what each would cost. He felt that the planner should receive a flat fee for attending meetings on our request. Mr. Jaworski mentioned that Mr. Van Housen had done some time on his own for familiarization. Mr. L'Allier stated that he was told to get familiar with the area and that Mr. Van Housen had asked us what we want him to do. Mr. Bohjanen stated that Mr. Floyd Matti had had his mailbox knocked down three times in the past year. He felt that this was a County problem. After discussion, Mr. Bohjanen moved that we request the County to place a guardrail on the curve on Sunset (near Elm and the freeway), this property being in Blaine and that the County place a street light in that area ahead of the curve like there is on the Blaine side; also that the County put up a 30 mph speed sign on a post closer to this curve. Seconded by Mr. L'Allier. Carried. Mr. Bohjanen also mentioned that a ditch had been partially destroyed on County Road J. He felt that the Engineer should be contacted before the flooding season. There was discussion on the ownership of the ditch. Mr. Rosengren will contact Mr. Gotwald. Mr. Bohjanen requested that a letter from the Pine City Special Events committee concerning the opening of I -35 be read and also that copies of the letter be made. Mr. Bohjanen stated that he planned to attend the opening. Mr. L'Allier stated that at the special budget meeting a proposed road program by the Engineers had been read, this stating that by improving 3.5 miles of gravel road each year, the gravel roads in Lino Lakes could be eliminated in five years. He read the portion of the report for next year. Mr. L'Allier felt that we should move to adopt this proposal, but that we should wait for Mr. Gotwald to be present. This is to be put on the agenda for the next meeting. Mr. L'Allier mentioned that the next regular meeting of the Anoka County Association of Municipalities would be held this Wednesday in Columbia Heights, with discussion on planning. Mr. Locher had the contract for deed ready from the Waldochs which needed only the Mayor and Clerk's signatures. The tax payment had not cleared the books but all is in order. The Clerk stated that Mr. *pith had not paid the final special use and rezoning fees for the riding stable on Birch Street. Mr. Locher advised her to call Mr. Pfaff of I.A.I. on the matter. Mr. Jaworski moved to pay the bills as audited. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. Mr. Jaworski moved at Mr. Bohjanen's request, that the Acting Mayor, Mr. Bohjanen be authorized to sign checks in the Mayor's absence. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried.
