17 <br />Mr. Bohjanen wished to find out just what projects the planner was doing and what <br />meetings he was attending, and just what each would cost. He felt that the planner <br />should receive a flat fee for attending meetings on our request. Mr. Jaworski <br />mentioned that Mr. Van Housen had done some time on his own for familiarization. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that he was told to get familiar with the area and that Mr. <br />Van Housen had asked us what we want him to do. <br />Mr. Bohjanen stated that Mr. Floyd Matti had had his mailbox knocked down three <br />times in the past year. He felt that this was a County problem. After discussion, <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved that we request the County to place a guardrail on the curve <br />on Sunset (near Elm and the freeway), this property being in Blaine and that the <br />County place a street light in that area ahead of the curve like there is on the <br />Blaine side; also that the County put up a 30 mph speed sign on a post closer to <br />this curve. Seconded by Mr. L'Allier. Carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen also mentioned that a ditch had been partially destroyed on County <br />Road J. He felt that the Engineer should be contacted before the flooding season. <br />There was discussion on the ownership of the ditch. Mr. Rosengren will contact <br />Mr. Gotwald. <br />Mr. Bohjanen requested that a letter from the Pine City Special Events committee <br />concerning the opening of I -35 be read and also that copies of the letter be made. <br />Mr. Bohjanen stated that he planned to attend the opening. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that at the special budget meeting a proposed road program <br />by the Engineers had been read, this stating that by improving 3.5 miles of gravel <br />road each year, the gravel roads in Lino Lakes could be eliminated in five years. <br />He read the portion of the report for next year. Mr. L'Allier felt that we should <br />move to adopt this proposal, but that we should wait for Mr. Gotwald to be present. <br />This is to be put on the agenda for the next meeting. <br />Mr. L'Allier mentioned that the next regular meeting of the Anoka County Association <br />of Municipalities would be held this Wednesday in Columbia Heights, with discussion <br />on planning. <br />Mr. Locher had the contract for deed ready from the Waldochs which needed only the <br />Mayor and Clerk's signatures. The tax payment had not cleared the books but all <br />is in order. <br />The Clerk stated that Mr. *pith had not paid the final special use and rezoning <br />fees for the riding stable on Birch Street. Mr. Locher advised her to call Mr. Pfaff <br />of I.A.I. on the matter. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to pay the bills as audited. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved at Mr. Bohjanen's request, that the Acting Mayor, Mr. Bohjanen <br />be authorized to sign checks in the Mayor's absence.
