Mr. Cardinal moved that a letter be written to Mr. Smith,
with a carbon copy to Mr. John B. Pfaff, stating that if the money were not received
within 30 days then the Council would withdraw the special use permit. Seconded
by Mr. Jaworski. Carried.
The Clerk mentioned that Mr. Harry Hughes had not yet turned in his survey nor paid
for the variance which he had requested earlier. Mr. Bohjanen thought that
Mr. Hughes had been holding off on his plans because of some tax problem. The Clerk
was instructed to call Mr. Hughes and perhaps write if no action were taken.
The Clerk reported that she had searched the records on Twilight Acres but had been
unable to find any mention of when hearings on road work were to be held. She was
asked to check with Mr. Gotwald.
The Clerk stated that she had written Mr. Caron on the Skelly sign and that he had
come into the office to discuss it. Mr. Caron had sent a letter to the company.
The Council wished that the letter be changed to request discussion on the sign
rather than ask that it be removed. This will be sent to Skelly Oil.
The Clerk also reported that she had checked the liquor liability insurance policies
and found them all to contain the 10 -day notification clause; she also read the
limits on each policy. Also, the off -sale liquor license for BKO, Inc., dba the
Oasis Lounge, had cleared the State. Municipal Court fines in the amount of $7.50
for August and $157.50 for October had been received. A copy of the Metro Council's
Sanitary Sewer Guide had been received and was passed around.
The Clerk reported that Mr. Beckwith of the VFW had presented the post's charter and
incorporation papers; however, the necessary liquor liability insurance certification
had not been received. Mr. Beckwith stated that his insurance agent had mailed this.
The license will be given to Mr. Beckwith upon receipt of the certification.
A letter written to Mr. E. J. Lundheim by the State Department of Highways regarding
the turn back of the portion of old Trunk Highway #8 located between T.H. 326 in
Lino Lakes and 1-35 was read. The letter stated that a resolution from Lino Lakes
would be needed before this portion of highway could be given State -Aid designation.
The Clerk was instructed to make copies for each of the Council for consideration
at the next meeting. Mr. Bohjanen moved to record that we were in receipt of the
letter. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried.
1
