1 <br />1 <br />Mr. Jaworski moved that 200 feet of 1 1/2" fire hose and necessary couplings be <br />purchased at a cost of $100.00. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reported that he had talked on the phone to Blaine about meeting with <br />them on the matter of lights for Sunrise Avenue. He asked if we were paying for any <br />lights on Sunset now and was told no. Blaine wants to survey the whole street to <br />see if other additional lights are needed. Mr. Bohjanen was told to go ahead and <br />let the Council know what they report. <br />Mr. Bohjanen also reported that Mr. Jandric had attended the C&BDC meeting and had <br />given ideas on industrial development, attracting same and tax breaks. Mr. Jandric <br />had promised to give some information for the brochure. They will wait for his <br />letter. <br />Mrs. Tufts asked what we could do to prevent industry from growing helter - skelter <br />with homes. Mr. Bohjanen replies that separate areas would be set aside for same. <br />Crystal Ahlman asked what had become of the heavy industrial zoning. Mr. L'Allier <br />explained that we were still working on it; he didn't feel that the rezoning would <br />occur until people started coming in. We don't wish to have to re- rezone as we <br />might be liable for damages. We can discourage building in some areas if we wish. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that he had contacted all the members of the building committee <br />and they would meet Thursday for an informative session. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that a letter be sent to the County bringing to their attention <br />that continuing hazardous conditions exist because of lack of speed signs in Lino <br />Lakes, especially in the area of Main St. between Hwy 8 and Sunset; also that no <br />parking signs are needed on Main St. between the I -35W bridge and Centerville; speed <br />limit signs are needed on Main St. between Hwy. 8 and Centerville. Seconded by <br />Mr. Cardinal. <br />Mr. Myhre mentioned that there are no speed signs on Lilac Street. The Clerk was <br />told to send appropriate letters on this to both the State and the County. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that he had talked to the Mayor of Circle Pines; they had had <br />3 policing meetings but none since September when Mr. Jaworski attended. They were <br />trying to get a speaker from the State Crime Bureau. We have not heard from the <br />County. <br />Mr. L'Allier moved that the Clerk place in ad for bids for a part time assistant <br />constable, with the applications to be in prior to Jan. 1 so that the Personnel <br />Commission can make a recommendation by the first meeting in January. Seconded by <br />Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. L'Allier read a list of requested equipment and bids for same which had been <br />given him at the last police meeting. Mr. L'Allier moved to purchase the used siren <br />for $125.00 and the other equipment on the list as follows: center console for <br />$25.00; switch box for $40.00; screen for seat for $50.00; 2 large bumper guards <br />from County for $20.00; 2 -5" aircraft lights for $30.00; 2 fog lights for $40.00; <br />2 outside rear view mirrors for $18.00; 2 hood pins for $50.00 and the following <br />emergency equipment: Ambo Pac for $50.00 plus case; M- PACT -0 Bar for $29.95; <br />small set of tools for approx S 0.00, for an approximate total of $350.00. Seconded <br />by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />
