There was no definite answer, but apparently it has been raised over the $600 per year since some civil servants are in the legislature. Mr. Rosengren felt it was a nuisance to keep track of all mileage, etc. Mr. L'Allier felt that all of the Council members probably spent $10-$15 per month on expenses. There was consider- able discussion on this matter. Mr. Rosengren noted that they are not supposed to lose money. The Clerk was asked to check back and see how many meetings had been held in 1969. Mr. Jaworski noted that there had been 34 meetings so far in 1969. The Clerk was to call Mr. Breasted and see if something could be installed to deflect the heat towards the floor. Mr. Rosengren presented a bid for the pull-type grader. This will be brought up the next meeting. There was discussion on the packer for which we have not received a bill. Columbus will send a bill for their share. The special meeting was called formally to order at 10:35 p.m. Mr. Cardinal moved to accept the wages as shown on the sheet and discussed this evening except for police salaries as follows: Clerk-Treasurer $300.00 per month Deputy Clerk 2.60 per hour Additional clerical help including election judges & registration personnel 2.35 per hour Road and Park Foreman 3.50 per hour Mechanic 4.00 per hour Road laborer & driver 2.70 per hour Weed Inspector 2.70 per hour Maintenance man 2.70 per hour Parks laborer 2.70 per hour Parks caretaker Lino Park 25.00 per month Sunrise 50.00 per month Assessor 200.00 per month Fire Marshall 180.00 per year Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Mr. Rosengren asked about paying the Clerk $3.00 additional per hour if she had to work extra hours. W. L'Allier felt that this would have to be something drastic. Motion carried unanimously.
