1
1
W. Don McShannock stepped forward to complain that the St. Paul paper did not
carry the Lino Lakes news in the edition he received; he felt that this was wrong
and that something should be done; perhaps if enough pressure was brought on the
paper something could be done. There was considerable discussion on this with
some stating that they received it and others getting the East side news. Appar-
ently carriers coming out of White Bear Lake carry the East news section while
other carriers have papers with the North section. The clerk was asked to call
W. Wood of the Circulation Department of the St. Paul Dispatch and request that
the Lino Lakes news be carried in all sections of the papers which are delivered
to Lino Lakes.
W. McShannock also stated that he was surprised that there had been so much un-
favorable reaction to the purchase of the Lake Amelia property for a park site.
He felt that Lino should pick up any property they could get for park area,
especially at such a good price. He was thanked for his appreciation of our
efforts.
Mr. Rosengren moved to authorize the signing of the new 1970 Centerville Fire
Contract. Seconded by W. L'Allier. Carried.
Mr. Backlin mentioned that there was a half -tank of fuel oil remaining and wondered
what the Council wished to have done with it. The Clerk was instructed to call
the supplier and see if he would pump it out.
The Clerk was also asked to drop a note to Coon Rapids Chrysler - Plymouth and see
when the squad car would arrive.
W. Bohjanen moved to pay the bills as audited. Seconded by W. Jaworski. Carried.
W. Jaworski moved to adjourn at 10:35 p.m. Seconded by W. Rosengren.
