56
bid from Rivard Electric Co. of Centerville in the amount of $567.00. If, however,
a substitution was made on the lamps there would be an additional charge of
$120.00. It was felt that this was a competitive bid. Mr. Jaworski moved to
accept this bid by Rivard Electric and have the lights installed. Seconded by
Mr. Cardinal. Carried. The letter was filed. Mr. Jaworski will contact Mr.
Rivard.
Mr. Bohjanen stated that he had spoken with the Lexington Fire Chief who thought
that we would qualify for a lower classification on fire insurance since we have
fire contracts. After discussion Mr. Bohjanen moved that a letter br written
to the State Fire Marshall inquiring whether we were eligible for a change in
classification; carbon copies to be sent to Mr. Juleen and the Centerville Fire
Chief. Seconded by Mr. L'Allier. Carried.
Mr. Rosengren stated that he had nothing special from the Road Department to
report. The building committee had met on Dec. 11; Mr. Glenn Rehbein had been
appointed Chairman and Mr. Roy Backlin Secretary. They will meet again on the
eighth of January at the Hall at 8:30 p.m. The papers were asked to make special
note of this since many in the Village were interested.
Mr. Lee Smith wished to comment on the meeting of the Metro Sewer Board to be
held on Dec. 29th. He had read through the booklet and felt that some pressure
must be put on the Board so that Lino Lakes would not be by- passed favor of
Centerville, etc. W. Smith stated that he planned to attend the meeting and felt
that Lino should be well represented. There was some discussion on this meeting.
Mr. L'Allier plans to attend. He felt that Anoka County is in the minority as
far as representation on the Board is concerned.
Mr. Cardinal mentioned that a new sign had been erected at the intersection of
135W and Main Street for East Rondeau Lake Road. However, it was in error and
different on both sides: one side reads West rather than East, the other spells
the name Randeau Rd. It was not known who had put the sign up.
Mr. L'Allier reported that he and Mr. Bohjanen had attended the meeting with Center-
ville on the Fire Contract. He read the changes which had been made in the contract
as well as the original statements. Centerville had tentatively agreed to the
changes. New contracts had been typed up and signed copies will be sent to Center-
ville for execution.
W. L'Allier had received a letter from Mr. Steffen of Anoka County in regards to
the Rice Creek Watershed District Proposal. Copies will be made for the Council
so that action can be taken.
A letter had been received from the Forest Lake School District; W. L'Allier read
this in regards to the setting of a meeting on Jan. 14 to discuss multi- dwellings
and mobile home parks. The letter was to be filed.
Mr. Roy Backlin asked that the Council reconsider and allow him to keep the pickup
truck at his home since it would be much more convenient as he will now be in
charge of both the roads and the parks. Mr. Backlin is the only one who drives
the pickup' he keeps the heater plugged in at his house. Mr. Bohjanen moved
to allow Mr. Backlin to keep the pickup at his own house only. Seconded by
Mr. Jaworski. Carried.
1
1
1
